I think he is gone.

As someone here mentioned, (too lazy to go back and look), I think the hold up is on the Texas end and how they are going to get Mack out.

Bama will fine post-Saban. No, I don't think we will be getting 3 of 4 following his departure...but I don't think Saban has that success either.

Saban has been wildly successful and is at the top of the food chain. But there are plenty of good coaches in CFB today. Hopefully we get one and don't slip into mediocrity.

Also, the only way Bama does not have to deal with these things every year is to hire coaches who don't win...or hire a Bama guy. Our history has shown us that staying within the family is not always productive.

Saban may leave...Saban may stay. I think he leaves and Bama continues to compete very well.

Supposedly has an extension on his desk now from Bama for $7.5M. He's had it for a week (unsigned)

So would $10 million a year make him the highest paid coach in both college football and the NFL?

By a long shot, 2.5 more that Belichick!

Jeez that could be a dangerous thing to set the bar for salary that high.

10 million isnt shite for ut. Hiring saban would bring in so much donation money.

Sure, the money (if correct) is way too much to turn down... But I think the fact that Saban could go to Texas and within 2-3yrs have a legitimate shot at a NC and be the first coach ever to win with 3 different teams would be the biggest draw.

Great job guys. He is damn sure thinking about it. All me and certainty is not surprising at all. I don't know Sabin at all personally but we have a lot of mutual friends from his Baton Rouge days and They have always said that despite the public Persona and the machine that he is as a coach that he is also often very indecisive in making this big decisions in his personal life and talk about how he went back-and-forth hundred times before deciding to take the Miami Dolphins job.
Of course they are also surprised you stayed in Alabama as long as he already has but he is getting older, I bet he has simply not decided whether he's going to take the Texas job or stay at Alabama and probably changes his mind ETA 10 times a day. But he is going to get a big raise either way don't give that a second thought. Lol

They are basically going big and feel confident they can land at least one big fish with big money. Would be hilarious if none of those guys bit...

Dont forget, his wife sounds like she hates #gumpnation. Dude wins 3/4 NC's and she says the fans dont appreciate him.

Exactly! What does that do for all the coaches that have it in their contract that they become the highest paid in the country when they win a National Championship?

Dangerous how? If schools have the money and wanna pay it, let em. That's no more ridiculous than pro baseball players making like 30M a year.
