Didn't they have a sports science on ESPN with a greatest athlete ever and Bo Jackson won? Pretty sure on the overall greatest Lebron got second, but wasn't in the bracket bc it was fans choice of greatest athlete by sport and MJ was picked (3rd overall).

Bo, his skills on Tecmo Bowl give him the edge.

Yes, and other finalists were Tony Hawk and Dale Earnhardt. No credibility with that one at all.
Like I said earlier, Jim Thorpe is the only answer to the OP's question.

Was wondering if he would come up. If you dont know who he is then go read his wiki. Dude was a phenomenanl athlete and deserves to be in contention for the GOAT.

So Bo Jackson (All-Star in 2 professional sports, Heisman trophy winner, man who told 2 professional sports leagues what he would play and when he would do it, man who literally has legends and folk lore about his athletic talents from when he was young until when he ripped his own hip out of socket due to his strength and speed) is second to Lebron because Lebron is considered the greatest basketball player of HIS GENERATION and was offered college scholarships in another sport....that is some amazing logic you have there.
Just because Lebron said he felt he could play for the Cleveland Browns a few years ago doesn't mean he could have been an NFLer, much less dominate the game. His size and speed on a basketball court mean nothing on 100 yards of turf. Do you also feel Stockton would have been a HOF quarterback?

I think being non-injury prone is one component of being athletic.

Bo Jackson isn't a HOFer in the NFL or MLB. Lebron will be a HOFer in the NBA, without a doubt.

Bo wasn't even that great of a baseball player. He had a career .250 batting average, .309 OBP, and struck out more than four times as often as he walked. He also had terrible baseball instincts. He couldn't do any of the little things right like hit a cutoff man to prevent a runner from advancing an additional base or take proper routes to catch flyballs which was why he was well below average defensively despite his tremendous physical skills.

Watching Lebron throw a football is hysterical. I don't know why this is even a debate

If that's all it takes I nominate Allen Iverson. By the OPs logic AI is tied with Lebron.
One of the best basketball palyers in recent memory. Check
Was a multi sport star in high school and was offered a football scholly on top of Basketball. Check
He was fast and can jump really high. Check
Pretty low standards to crown someone the best athelet ever.

Not sure what this would have to do with him catching a football?
Best Athlete ever is a pretty useless debate. Each sport brings its own form of athleticism, that doesn't necessarily pertain to another.

That's sort of the point. If someone has the skillset to be successful in multiple sports wouldn't they pretty much be one of/the greatest athlete ever?
