Everyone have their Valentines day dinner reservations?

It's my birthday and one of the hardest nights of the year to get a good meal at a restaurant. We've tried everything, but this year we're going early and to somewhere in the sticks.

I'll be in the Caribbean. I had the resort reserve a dinner on the beach for us.

Mrs. Vedder and I haven't done dinner out on V-Day night for many years. Too crowded and many restaurants have limited menus to deal with the rush. We go out to dinner a week before or after, and just eat at home on V-Day.

My fiancée's birthday is two days before. We always cook at home for Valentine's Day but it gets aggravating to encounter the often limited V-Day menus for her birthday dinner.

It is a PITA, but when my birthday falls during the week it's really the only option. We've had some bad experiences though.

Worst day of the year to eat out, I normally boil crawfish for the wife that night.

Mrs. Timbo and I have the same policy too. I don't wanna pay a fortune to eat dinner at 5 p.m. Last year, we went out the weekend before Valentine's, before that we went out a week or so after.

If we do anything it will be on the 13th so we get a full menu

Why do you think there won't be a full menu?

Going out the saturday night before. I did the cook at home thing a few times, but don't anymore because I was too busy cooking to really enjoy hanging out with my wife as much as I would like.
ETA: Not to mention the time I was grilling steaks and chargrilling oysters for her at her apartment at Southgate when we were dating. Having to use one of the grills by the pool. Having to walk a long way to get back and forth to the apartment. Then it started raining and those grills didn't have a cover. So I took them off and covered them with tupperware. When i got back into the apartment my wife immediately took the tupperware and started washing it, not realizing the steaks were underneath.

I've got two reservations. One at August one at Atchafalaya. Only using one obviously but not sure which yet. I'll give up the one I don't chose to a friend or someone on here.

not addressed to me but it is not uncommon for places to a special menu for V-Day, usually with limited options. makes things easier on a very busy night, i guess.

Not a fan of vday dining out. Plus I usually work on Thursday nights

Husbands birthday is a few days before. We are on our third annual birthday dinner at an ethnic restaurant on the outskirts of town that takes reservations. Went so well the first year we made it an annual event. Eat at home on Vday. It is an amateur eating night like NYE is an amateur drinking night.

Go the night before and save yourself some headaches. That said, I have a reservation at Gino's bar on the 13th. Gino did tell me there is no pre fixe on the 14th, so hope that helps.
