Anyone have experience with the Thunder Chicken or Trash Panda suppressors from Q?

Yes, I have the Thunderchicken.

It's been a really great can for me. Very quiet and the cherry bomb makes it lock up tight.

Highly recommend. There are several others on the board than have them as well.

I like mine on the left side so my thumb can turn it on. (right hand shooter)

So I mounted my flashlight to the right side of my AR barrel. Where should I put the pressure switch? On top of the picatinny rail or on the side by the flashlight using the MLOK?

That's a personal preference thing; you just need to figure out where/what your grip is and the most reliable way to activate it. The AR world (a percentage of it) has an obsession with a number of gun celebs, and they'll tell you you have to grip it this way or that. Practice and do what works for you, and that'll determine where your tape switch goes.

Thanks for posting the pic. The percentage of pics per page in this thread is way down since COVID-19 reached us.

Pre-boating accident pics are welcome.

$430.00 for a lower with no fire control.

I'd rather pony up another $400 and get a KAC ambi lower.

Anyone order from Larue lately to know how far behind they are running? I’ve seen anything from a few weeks to several months

Looking forward to using one of their two stage triggers

Could easily take 3-4 months before you get it. Best just to try to forget about it and then be surprised when it does arrive. They are very good triggers and built like absolute tanks, but I still like the feel of the Hiperfire enhanced duty trigger better. It's a single action that almost feels like a double.

In saying that, if I had just one, it would probably be the LaRue because of how heavy duty it is built. That thing feels like it can take an rpg and still rock and roll.

that's my mindset.

I've shot a Gisselle 2 stage and really liked it, so I'm pretty excited to try out the LaRue. All the reviews I've read on the trigger itself are positive.

Ordered May 3rd, delivered May 17th.

MBT2S and some FDE APEGs. Black APEGS were back-ordered with no timeframe on delivery.

It's a good trigger. It's not an SSA or SSA-E but it's not far off. They're so cheap I'm not convinced he makes a profit on them, I think he makes enough selling $3000 rifles that he can sell the triggers at cost and does so just to spite Geissele.

CGS Hyperion K is lighter, shorter, and quieter than the Trash Panda while also having less backpressure (this is all independently verified through PewScience). It's the best in compact cans. Furthermore, the cans from Q exhibit extreme baffle erosion after just a few thousand rounds. The CGS cans and the way they are made are actual hard use titanium cans with little to no baffle erosion shown after extended firing schedules. Also, if I paid $1k for a can, I would be pissed if my welds look like the trash that Q puts out. Their PVD coating also sucks. It leaves fingerprints and gets dirty quick. The PVD done by CGS is much nicer. If you want compact, get a Hyperion K. A hyperion full length is 1.4 inches longer than a Thunder Chicken, weighs less than 1 ounce more, and is significantly quieter than a Thunder Chicken. It is the quietest silencer in the world. If you want the longer option. A full length hyperion is the best. I would consider either of those if you want light and quiet over the Q cans.

Anyone have issues with trigger pin moving a little with Geissele trigger side to side? Shot about 400 rounds today at Range and noticed when I was cleaning her up when I got home.

Curious if this was common or if I needed to different pins

Thanks

No big deal, get some KNS pins if it bothers you.

I was told 6-8 weeks for any orders with hand guards, which is what I ordered.

I have a LaRue 2 stage that came in my MSR-10. I haven’t had any range time with it, but I like it from just fooling with it, though I’m not a big fan of 2 stage triggers. I want a LaRue single stage to try out, but they’re out of stock on their website.

I think that all depends on your budget so many different options

Magpul MBUS Front Site

Magpul MBUS Rear Site

In my opinion, best bang for the buck. You could upgrade to the pro "all metal" set but you are more than likely not going to need that. I have these on a couple of setups and couldnt be happier.

The better question may be which ones should I avoid. I don’t need anything great, but I want them to stay out and still be “on” if I ever need to use them
