Astros Considering new name, colors, jersey

For when we make the switch to the AL.

I'd be in favor of changing anything but the name. Don't really care for the jerseys, and I can't stand the red brick color. But the Astros, for better or for worse, is 50 years of history.
Thoughts?

The big changes could be a year away. Owner Jim Crane said that branding changes are being discussed all the way up to the point of reconsidering the “Astros” name.

Wow. Can't believe they're gonna go through with the name change, though. I think they should probably revamp the unis though.

I wish they wouldn't change the name

$7 tickets down to $5 is a cool and all but youre going to have to get some ball players if you want to get fans in the seats. I like the new uni's and colors idea to go with the change, but a new name? Really? No. Bad idea. I'm not really an astros fan so take it fwiw.

I don't care. The Astros as an organization died the minute they accepted switching to the AL. Gone are all of the old rivalries, might as well take the identity too.

Go back to the old school jerseys IMO.

Won't happen. There will be too much negative backlash unless it was to something like the Colts. Opinions vary when it comes to the team colors because the current colors have no historical significance. The name "Astros" however is entrenced with the history of the team. From the Astro dome, to Orbit the mascot, to the meaning of the star logo. When you're already trying to win back the loyalty of the fans due to a bad team and a largely unwelcome move to the AL, a name change won't happen.

Exactly, you can't change the name.

I'd be in favor of changing anything but the name.

Color change would be awesome because I hate the generic stuff they have now, please no name change though :/

I grew up with the Killer Bees. Bring back the blue and gold color scheme.

Name change would be fine. They were the Colt 45's for a few years. When you think of it they haven't had much success as the Astros. No world series titles and not a lot playoff appearances n their history. They have no storied history as the Astros or the Colt 45's. This ain't the New York Yankees or Los Angeles Dodgers or St. Louis Cardinals. It's not even the Detroit Tigers.
No one really gives a crap about the space program and Astronauts aren't celebrities anymore.
