I'm considering moving my goal weight down? Im 6'3, should i be shooting for the 225 mark?

I initially set my goal for 185, I'm 5'11", but as I approach that weight I can see I still need to lose. I think when I was about 180 I looked and felt my best but its been so many yrs ago
Honestly its something you'll just have to look at when you get there, muscle mass varies so much from individual to individual. Good luck, looks like your off to a fantastic start!

I didn't point out they were fat to be mean(I know you didn't imply it, but I felt bad doing it) But I could tell they were on some kind of diet. It actually helped me out because I lost a pound, and was thinking about calibrating with a cookie.

My ideal weight is probably 170-175, but I'm hoping I can add some muscle mass because of the way I look at that weight.

i hate to see people sabotage themselves this way. they're avoiding what won't hurt them (the oils & fats) by eating MORE of what will (sugar)

The Cadfast let me down.

Only went from 160.7 to 160.5. The performance enhancing digestive aids I took also let me down until after the weigh-in this morning.

Then all digestive hell broke loose while at work.

I have no doubt at some point before noon I was below 160. A scene from Dumb & Dumber comes to mind.

Then lunch happened.

The free lunch was seafood gumbo and poboys. I ate too much. Felt like I was going to blow up.

Then I did. The stomach was still mad at me for the PEDs.

I'll still probably be up 3 tomorrow because of the MASSIVE sodium spike and the 900 poboys I ate.

The 159s will continue to elude me for another week.

Damn Myth I thought your game plan was solid. Oh well there is always next week. The poboys and gumbo sounds like it was damn good. I too have a potential mine field of cheats coming up over the next week. Must try to minimize the damage

The results from the carnage yesterday were worse than expected.

Up 4 pounds.

Not sure I will be able to get back to my low by next Wednesday.

The elusive 159s will keep eluding me for at least another week or two.

Myth, I was fearful of meeting you at 159, but I had another decent day. That said I will welcome you to the 150's when it occurs. You are right about the 5lb carb bounce. Since being at 147 this summer and reintroducing carbs I have been up-stuck +5 to 7.

Haven't posted in a couple days been stuck in training.

Last couple of days been good. Wearing jeans I haven't worn in 2 years.

The only thing that is bothering me is that I feel constipated in the evenings. Anyone else get this feeling?

Every time I start eating healthier, I get LOCKED up.

Still plugging along. Just started my 4th week. Did a 24 hour fast yesterday without much problem. Worked out before I broke it and really wasn't hungry after. Just taking my time and trying to get in the habit of eating better and less.

If you're cutting carbs there's a drastic reduction in fiber intake. Eat lots of veggies high in fiber, like broccoli and spinach. And some berries are very high in fiber also, like raspberries. If you find that you're having problems with that, take fiber supplements like psyllium (sp?) husks or flax seeds. Drink plenty of water also, that will help move things along.

OK, I was in this thread a year or so ago, and I have maintained fairly well, but I got a note from the dr yesterday- 'refocus on diet and exercise.' so I'm going to give this low carb thing a whirl. I'm going to start by just cutting the unnecessary carbs (bread, rice, pasta, etc) but still eating fruits and veggies, and see how far it takes me. Got a crawfish boil tonight, and a wine festival this weekend, and after that, I will dub Sundays as my official 'off day' from the diet. Lost .5 yesterday, so I guess I'm already in headed in the right direction.
