So with the Big 12 staying together (for now), what is the Big Ten's next move. We know they still want Notre Dame as the utlimate prize. Does the Big Ten start shifting their eyes East? Im still not sold on the Big 12 staying together. Would Missouri still consider moving to the Big Ten if they are invited? I dont see how Missouri could turn down a Big Ten offer, even with the new Big 12 deal. What happens next?

Please go after Missouri so it can all start again. Missouri would backstab the Big 12 in a heartbeat and I believe this is the only way this whole deal might not be over,

If the Big 10 wants to make a move on a team like MU they should probably do so ASAP - I wouldn't be surprised to see Texas putting in increased penalties for leaving the Big 12

They could safely do so - knowing it's a penalty they would never have to pay (as soon as Texas leaves teh conference it probably goes belly up)

The Big Ten is not going to invite anybody else until they get Notre Dame.

The Big Ten really needs to have a north and south alignment. They can't have Ohio State, Penn State and Michigan all be in the same division.

Penn State and Michigan are Ohio State's two biggest rivals, they have to be in the same division.

And the Conference Championship game will almost certainly be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indy I would say for sure.

No...

The Big Ten is going to offer 3 teams from the Big east to kill it as a FB conference. They will make it public that they are trying to convince ND to join. They will then lie and say that if ND isn't interested they are going to invite another team to go to 16 teams.

This will prompt the SEC to add 4 teams from the ACC.
The ACC will then absorb the remaining FB schools in the Big East.
ND will then have no choice but join the Big-10.

Then at the end of the short term deal, UT joins the PAC-10. OU and A&M will have no choice but to follow.

I say eventually Mizzou and Rutgers get added, leaving room for ND at a later date.

Maybe. However, I still think the Big Ten settles for this for at least a few years, with the offer to ND of course always on the table. If ND joins, the Big Ten adds an East team, and finishes at 14. If by, say, 2012, ND's still not on board, then the Big Ten does the blitzkrieg and basically "makes" ND join.

I don't see why not. Hell, this year, the West would be much better than the East, if you look from top to bottom.

I don't think Delaney is that patient. And it was him that started this mess with suggestions that the Big-10 might go to 16 teams.

Would just water down the conference.

You don't need 16.

A little imbalanced for football with OSU, UM and PSU in the same division.

You may have to go to a North/South orientation:

North: Michigan, Michigan St, Minnesota, Wisconsin, UCONN, Rutgers, Penn St & Purdue
South: Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Northwestern, Ohio State & Indiana

Have to keep OSU, Michigan, MSU, Penn St all in the same division, IMO. MAYBE they could move PSU out, but OSU/Michigan/MSU will all be in the same division.

CCG at Lucas Oil Stadium, IMO.

Penn State moves out.

You can't have the 3 best teams, historically, in the same division.
