Mall of Louisiana's future

It's obvious that the tenant mix of this property has been steadily declining for years...similar to many other malls in the US.
After this week, how many law-abiding families will feel safe going to the Mall again?
This wasn't a scuffle in a parking lot. This wasn't a targeted attack. This was thugs shooting Glocks indiscriminately into a crowd in the FOOD COURT during the middle of the day and killing an innocent teenage girl.
I wouldn't be surprised to see anchor tenants bailing out on the Mall after this.
Once that happens it's usually game over.
Can the Mall of LA survive this?
Families of BR: Do you intend on going back to the mall any time soon?

It’s cooked. No one will go there, it will close, and people will continue to flee Louisiana’s downward spiral.
Nobody wants to spend astronomical sums on insurance and taxes just so they can be surrounded by young scholars.
Rinse and repeat.

I haven’t been, other than to go to the aquarium once, in at least 10 years. Before that, probably another 10. Why would anyone who isn’t a teenage girl put themselves through that?

Reduce it to 2 entrances and put up metal detectors. The city is safe but has psychopaths that now prefer to drive down to the nice parts of town to shoot each other.

St. George should buy low and bring in law and order.

The mall closest to me made news today… yutes making a ruckus in the food court yesterday evening.
I order what I need online.

I'm definitely never letting my kids go to the Mall with friends for a few hours.
I'm definitely not willing to risk my life shopping for a toaster at Williams Sonoma.
If these tenants do in fact pull out they should be vocal as to WHY.

I'm sorry but who wants to go shopping in this kind of environment?

Well that is not true

I’d prefer separate shopping facilities.

All of your posts are about BR/NOLA crime or restaurant closures
I went to the mall about once a year. I’ll probably keep going about once a year.

Just make it an indoor shooting range.

I’m going to go. I’m not letting them run me off that easily. You can’t live in fear.

And all the thugs will start frequenting Perkins Rowe.

I’m amazed that it’s still open
I haven’t shopped in the mall in well over a decade

Only stupid white people would set foot in that mall.

I’m just going to miss the Pretzel Twister in the mall. Don’t go so often as I used to but that place has been great for 20+ years. Way better than something like Auntie Annes.

The decarceration idiocy essentially made malls soft targets.

Typical bitch Atlanta move. You must live in DeKalb. How are you going to deal with all the legal gun carriers? Oh, you'll put up more signs saying guns are prohibited for people that want to protect themselves.
The scholars will shoot each other in line, and people will be more tightly packed, just like in the shitty ATL airport security lines at the airport you probably claim is the best in the world.
