Could the “silent commits” be the 5 in 5 players? Which is why they havnt been able to publicly commit since its not official yet.

They very well could be.

What I find amusing is the numb nuts on this board that are partying like it's 1999 up in this mother because they believe that Wade doesn't know what he's doing. When every year since Chattanooga he's proven he puts quality talent on the floor.

I'll trust Wade's strategy until he shows a reason not to.

what do we think happens if the rule is passed? They just sign with LSU and don't shop for the best offer?

There is a VAST area in between. However, as with most things on the board...and society in general now, everyone immediately rushes to the extreme ends of the discussion to gain some kind of "cred" (i guess).

I agree. It's foolish to think Wade doesn't have a thought out plan/strategy, because there has been nothing in his career prior to now to suggest he wouldn't. But on the opposite end, it's reasonable to wonder what that strategy is when it seems like no one else in CBB seems to be following it.

Yes, every one of them will sign with LSU. The roster will consist of 100+ players next year. New era of college basketball.

Well according to Slick Rick most teams have exhausted 80% of their NIL budget. So we should be the best offer. The Generals been out here playing chess!

The difference is most teams don’t need 9 players lol.

So this leads me to believe that they really are going after the 5 for 5 players and don't have all these silent commits.

Did people really believe they had all these silent high end commits just locked up?

Maybe that part has already been agreed upon? I don't know that it is. But, I guess it's plausible.

Who are the "5 in 5" players? Or 5 for 5? I haven't really been keeping up with basketball recruiting. I keep hearing all the media in BR saying we'll get commits "soon" for what seems like a couple of weeks now.

There is some legislation that is likely to pass that would get rid of redshirts and state that all players can play 5 years in college. The clock would start when you enroll so you have 5 years to play 5.

Meaning guys that played 4 years and are currently out of eligibility would be granted an extra year.

Ah, ok. Thanks Bert.

I think I remember hearing about that some time ago but didn't realize they were already debating putting it into action. Certainly interesting.

If that's the plan, it's a gamble.
