Why did we hand over convenience stores and hotels to non-Americans?

These aren’t insignificant sectors.

May not be something Americans were interested in opening with their own cash. Gas stations are low margin. Also, taking the property back is much easier when a non-citizen is involved.

We give them money to buy them.

It's a damn shame. You can't hardly get a French tickler or a spray of Drakkar Noir from a gas station bathroom anymore.

We didn't. The Indian immigrants came in with a business plan to buy lower tier businesses (primarily budget motels/hotels and convenience stores) and they executed on the plan along with living on the cheap and helping other Indian immigrants execute the same business plan.

They have a thumb on the scale to get loans

C-store loan is top 2 hardest loan to get…they are buying majority of them with cash. I’m not talking $250k cash, but $1-$2m+ a lot of C-store owners in Louisiana live in NY, Cali and send ppl down to run and only sell to other Indians. . There’s definitely some crazy business plan happening. Lol

Yep. They get small business loan preferences, as fricked as that sounds (and is).

Who is "we"? Indians, middle Easterners....came in with suitcases full of cash and made offers that the owners couldn't so no to.
These non-americans are cheap labor and work long hours. You wouldn't and couldn't do it. They deal with the worst of the worst customers. And that is exactly why the former owners were easily bought out.

And almost all their establishments are trash dumps. And they are sneaky about the prices of things (notice the next time you go into one their stores that nothing has a posted price).

Read Thomas Sowell. Pretty much anything where he goes in depth on immigration.
Whatever you choose to read will also explain why certain races have nothing of the sort associated with them.
I'd suggest "Black Rednecks and White Liberals". But he covers this stuff in other places.

They will move their family into the hotel. The Indians finance each other. Since they are living in hotel, they have lower housing costs. Much lower. They do other such things as well.

How is that a "plan"? They simply applied for the same loans you and I could apply for. Again - and I am generalizing here - they come here and for the most part (generalizing) live badly (three families to a home type stuff), never go out (when have you ever seen a large group of Indians at a Chilis or at the Movies or Amusement Park? Too expensive (they say). I know a guy who does doordash, says he gets almost no orders from Chinese or Indian or in general Asian people, even not from Chinese restaurants. They make do.
And three years later they can buy the next shop and its off to the races.

False. But if you live in a shite hole city, or the arm pit of the town, they probably are trash dumps. Who's faults is that for living in the area?

I heard this straight from an Indian.
They come over and buy small businesses because it is the easiest path to citizenship.

quote:Yeah, what doesn't OP understand about free enterprise? They came here - mostly starting in the early 70s, some fleeing Ida Amin's Uganda - and bought bankrupted motel assets very cheaply. Lived with their entire family in one room of the motel and broke their backs working endless hours providing a service to Americans for decades. It's dumb to begrudge this type of labor. Plenty of taxes have been paid and lots of value has been built.

Why is this on the poli board?
Do you want to own a gas station or a by the hour motel?
