We still have a decent chance to make the NCAA tournament

13 SEC wins should get us in. We are at 6 with 12 games left. If we can win 7 of the last 12 there is a good chance we slip in. All hope is not lost. Magic has happened before in LSU baseball!

We just went 0-3 with a runner on 2nd with no one out against UNO! A bunt popped weakly to the catcher, an uncompetitive strikeout swinging twice at sliders in the opposite batters box, and a weak fly out to end the inning. That kind of play is not getting us to the tournament.

I think the path is to get at least 1 in Starkville and Athens, sweep South Carolina at home, and get 2 from Florida at home. Most importantly, you can't get swept on the road bc that puts so much pressure on the home games against SC and UF. We need to steal a series from Miss St and/or Georgia.

The problem isn’t whether we could get in, it’s can we get those 7 wins to make it matter… current track record says no and as someone else said we probably still need a SEC tournament or few wins. ..
And even then do I really wanna see us shipped off to a UCLA regional to get curb stomped out of a regional… I’ll take the time on building for next year and save the further embarrassment.

Normally you’re right, 13 is enough. But our many bad non-con home losses (McNeese, Northeastern, Sac State x2, Bethune-Cookman) are gonna do their best to keep our RPI in the tank. Back-to-back sweeps the last two weekends were absolute gut punches. Even if we sweep South Carolina, we have to win 1 series out of Auburn, MS St(road), and Georgia(road), while avoiding getting swept again. Seems a major long shot

62 WPs in 42 games, over 100 walks in just over 157 innings, and over 1 HBP per game. No way you make the postseason with those numbers unless you are averaging scoring a 10 spot each game and we are no where near that.
