Anything can happen, but my gut says 13 wins isn’t getting us in with our bad OOC. We need to get to at least 14, preferably 15.

Getting to 13 would at least open up the conversation and possibility, though.

I’m hoping for:
-win 2 of 3 State
-sweep USC
-win 1 or 2 UGA

-at least that has us going into the Florida series with a CHANCE

still a slimmer of hope but you also have to root for no upsets in conf tourneys

have you seen the schedule, what makes you think LSU will have enough on sec weekends against the remaining slate

That must've happened earlier in the night b/c I watched from 4th inning on and they finally looked like a baseball team. They were even trying small ball. Shows me Jay is willing to try anything.

Catching is still a concern as is pitching in general.

And we don't really have a legitimate closer as Guidry gave up a 3 run bomb in the bottom of the 9th.

Yes, I think it was the 3rd inning (maybe 2nd?). Definitely was against the UNO starter. Of course our team started to hit better the deeper we got into the UNO bullpen. But that also shows why we struggle mightily against SEC pitchers.

The difference between 2008 and today is that the 2008 team was fundamentally sound and good enough to be able to string together multiple wins. This year's team has mostly looked like a 1962 Mets redux with the errors, wild pitches, gopher balls and baserunning gaffes. They're not capable of playing well enough to beat the top half of the SEC teams, much less stringing together multiple wins.

Only way they get in is automatic bid as SEC tournament champs.
