If tweet fails to load, click here. And yet LSU will somehow still find a way to miss the playoffs I’m sure.

This isn’t BKs program anymore

It absolutely is but, its not about anything but spreading the money around.

Agree.
You either have to let all conferences champs in, including the CUSA champ, or invite the 8th place team in the SEC/B1G, or both.

First off this is just stupid. It's too much. 24 teams do not magically somehow deserve playing for a championship as much as a team that is in the top 4 at the end of the year.
Also, this will hurt the regular season. People will slowly have less care for each game as there's less on the line.
And pretty much would be the end of conference championship games.
All this is trending in the opposite direction of where I wish college football was headed.

This.
There is no thought that this, like talk of expanding the NCAA Basketball Tournament will, in the long run, dilute the product. The ONLY consideration is the short-term benefit of larger TV contracts.
Scarcity creates greater demand in the long run. But know one seems to recognize that when there are bigger short term dollars to be made.

LSU won the last real champ in ‘19.
Every season since then has been a bastardization of the sport.
$$$, more playoffs, more corporate influence, no rules… it’s literally a shell of itself.
It’s so sad, but our kids will NEVER get to live the experience of an ‘07 Florida type game where it was a regular season game that meant literally everything.

shorten the regular season
eliminate all non conf games
they serve no purpose
SOS doesn't matter
go to ten sec games and keep sec title game since two participants will be guaranteed a spot

It does on the surface, but if you think about it, the NFL has 32 teams, and 14 make the playoffs. So, nearly 50% of the league.
The same is true for all professional sports.
NCAA football has 130 teams, and right now only 12 make the playoffs, which is about 11%. Moving to 24 is 18%. I think that is proper representation of the competing teams to determine a champion.
If the number of teams reduces to 64 or 72 power teams, 24 is still a good number relative to the whole.
The real problem is getting schedule compatibility/equitability across that many teams.

Won’t be long before the regular season games are completely meaningless

Every school loses home games and revenue to their cities in this scenario. I don’t want less weekends in TS.

the Colin Cowherd's of the world will love this.
In reality, this is retarded and awful for college football.

12 is already so diluted, RIP CF

24 is ridiculous. Even 16 would be questionable in my opinion. 24 is an absolute no though. I could see an argument for 16 but absolutely no to 24.
