Hot air balloon with 13 aboard makes emergency landing in California backyard.

Did a hot air balloon ride (which was awesome) and he didn’t get the wind other balloons did so we landed in the yard of an abandoned church. Grass was 7 feet high. Was pretty funny.

So this giant balloon made an emergency landing, landing perfectly on a tiny section of flat grass between tall trees and a house. The passengers then remained in the perfectly upright ballon while making a video. No concern that a possible gust of wind could suddenly hurl them back into the air or drag them across trees.
Not saying this did not really happen but certainly sounds questionable.

Not really. Those trees behind them cannot be more calm. No gust coming.

I am not scared to fly or anything like that, I don't like heights, but I am not deathly afraid of them. With that said, something about a hot air balloon and riding in one has never appealed to be... Especially if 12 other people are in that damn basket

So they landed there by dropping straight down? Does not take much wind to move a hot air balloon.

I had one land in my front yard last weekend. It was the craziest thing. Out walking the dog and kept hearing the gas blowing. Dude just landed right in between a bunch of trees. I couldn't believe how easy it was to maneuver. They moved the basket out in the street and folded it all up into the back of a trailer.
