State Capitol Pride: Baton Rouge

Just drove thru from west to get soul refilled in LA / New Orleans (FQ / Jazz Fest weekends).
LA native. Wish LA had more pride in itself! Eyeballs say it is still a work in progress.
If Baton Rouge cared half as much about its own look as Coach Lane Kiffen’s pride in himself, the positives for the city would compound faster than Devery Henderson.
Baton Rouge, Capitol (crown jewel) welcomed us:
- I quit counting tire pieces at 52 the last 1.5mi to BR Bridge in WBR.
- Crossed BR Bridge to see I-10 overpass of Acadian Thruway to look like Iranian ship bottom of sea in Strait of Hormuz.
- To then see the stretch of I-10 to College to look like a Phoenix rising from the ashes… but just the ashes (I-10 walls circa 1500 BC)
- However, the bright colored, fresh signs high above waved down from LA’s PI Lawyer overlords beamed brightly!
- To then enjoy miles & miles of ash and dirt concrete walls on either side, a reminding of an elusive pride.
Where is the pride? Broken windows theory is alive and well. Is anyone in charge of the Baton Rouge “brand”?
Bar is low. MS is the benchmark evidently.
