Less than 40k tickets sold across all three days.

Expensive production - it was really well run

Multiple times each night, thanking Gov Landry and showing him on Jumbotron

Announced they are coming back next year.

No way they didn’t lose a ton of money unless tbe state write a huge check

Not that I'd ever go to that shite but it didn't seem to be promoted as vigorously as like the Savannah Bananas were a couple weeks ago.

I went to the Rodeo/Cojo Concert and had an amazing time baw

Rodeo was good, wasn't a fan of Old Dominion being the opener for an entire hour, but Cojo tore the dome down. It wasn't as packed as I felt an act of his magnitude shouldve brought in but this was the first time Hondo has hosted in NOLA so

Screw you. OD kicked arse. Wife and I left after OD finished their set. I wish they would’ve played another hour. Hit after hit after hit. Didn’t know who Cody whatever his name was and didn’t care. Rodeo was fun to watch and OD was great.

Hondo wasn’t promoted well in BR at all- they would’ve sold more tickets had they done a better job in the BR/lafayette area as they had cowboys and cowgirls from DeQincy, Sulphur, Iowa, Walker and other areas of Louisiana competing. Lots of local ties and they brought out Tyler Shough and other local celebs to participate. Lots of action and never a lull in the evening. Well done by the organizers.

Why is it called the Hondo rodeo? Seems like just branding as “The New Orleans Rodeo” would be better.

Try to make it as a competitor to the Houston Rodeo. Could be a decent regional draw possibly? Logistically don’t know if it can work as the city is so urbanized that doesn’t have the space like NRG.

Most of the folks in the region that are big into rodeo want nothing to do with Nola. They view it as a crime cesspool. You’d probably have a better chance at the Cajun dome if the right acts are performing.

I saw a news clip of Jeff Landry (wearing a stupid cowboy hat) sitting next to Helena Moreno. Was supposed to be some type of promotion. They were not talking and were ignoring each other. They each had a look on their face, like they wanted to stab the other one in the neck with a butcher knife.

Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry allocated $2 million from the state's Major Events Fund to support the Hondo Rodeo Fest in New Orleans

This is such a misconception for anyone with a decent salary. You make 50k a year, sure prop tax is rough, 100k plus, no state income tax is much better.

Being on the same weekend as Hogs for the Cause probably didn't help attendance.

I believe the biggest factor is that most rodeo and country music fans don't want anything to do with New Orleans. I know I don't. I would have gone had it been just about anywhere else, but I can't stand going to that cesspool.

This dude really thinks he’s Huey. It all started with the Omar Bradley stunt.

I saw that weasel looking bastard with his cowboy hat on, on social media. Dude really is a tool.

As for as Helena Moreno, I will say this. She is much better than the last mayor.
