Depends on the day.

Sometimes the hour.

You dont love them different, but you do vibe with them differently. Usually the one just like you gives you trouble. You know their bullshite.

End the cycle. Tell your kids who is the favorite.

It's the right thing to do.

Do you have pets?

Sometimes the dog or cat are number 1

When they become teenagers, you won't have a favorite anymore. In fact, you won't even like them.

Whenever one of my boys would come whining to me when they were little, "How come _____ gets to/gets more?"

"Because I love them more than you"

We had this discussion at Easter. Both my kids were over with their spouses and my 4 grandkids. I have this running joke where when I pick up any one of my grands for a hug I always whisper in their ear that I love them and they are my favorite. My wife was fussing at me and saying I shouldn’t do that. Both my daughter and my son thinks it’s funny. My son tells me “I know you love them all and are joking but we all know Caroline (oldest granddaughter from my daughter) really is your favorite. Which is probably true.

Again my wife was fussing saying a parent/grandparent shouldn’t have favorites. My daughter asks her why not because she always did. Of course my wife denies this and says she loves both her children equally. Again both my kids laugh and told her No, her son was her favorite just like my daughter was my favorite. To which I and my son both agreed. My wife was just dumbfounded they both felt that way. Both my son and daughter told her it was fine because they both grew up feeling tremendous love and support from both of us and never doubted that love but their were definite favorites.

As another poster already stated, you just tend to vibe with one a little more than the others. I would without question sacrifice my life for any of my kids or grandkids, but yes there are favorites.

Yeah,
My oldest grandkid is 8 and he has already caught on to it. The others are 3, 2, and 8 months so I should be able to keep it going for awhile longer.

It changes……. But it’s true.

You have stretches with kids at different times that are a lot of fun. Times where they’re more independent. I have 3, it’s not I don’t love all of them, and don’t make effort to spend time with each.

Gee Jr and little ms princess Gee don't bother me. Gee Jr graduates in a few weeks. He's the type that's not gonna let the world work him over. Little Ms Princess is gonna have a hard time and I feel for the fella that pairs up with her.

To each his own. I have two different kids but not a favorite.. they both piss me off, make me proud, make me smile, roll my eyes and laugh.. different days, different emotions but they are both my favorite people.
