Sure there are sycophantic smooth-brains who seal-clap after every tweet and changed policy exclaiming it is “17D chess!” And for us to trust the plan, wait for the storm, trust sessions

Trump thinks his supporters are these people. People who voted for HIM because he’s TRUMP.

He did not expect that people voted for him because of actual ideals and promises like:

Draining the swamp
Ending corruption
Exposing and arresting the Epstein class
Going after the people who allowed him to be shot
Stopping the endless wars of the Industrial Military Complex
Exposing and stopping fraud with DOGE
Arresting the heads of those who commit fraud
Building a wall
Mass deportation
Stopping foreign workers, Indians, from taking IT jobs
Holding the tech-bros in check
Exposing fake news
Cut spending
Lower prices on the middle class

Very little of this has he accomplished, and in fact, many would argue he’s reversed course on a lot of these so they are upset

And now Trump is getting pissy thinking the world has somehow turned on him because he’s realizing he isn’t loved because he’s Trump, alone, he’s loved because he stood up against the machine with THESE PROMISES.

This hurts his ego

If you expect perfection you’ll probably be disappointed.

Trump 2.0 is the best president in my life time and it’s not close at all

Agreed. He's proven not to be the guy we were eager to vote for although in his defense, he hasn't exactly had a functional Congress to help him.

TDS is amazing to watch.

Every day you seem to be compelled to invent fantasies like this.

Does it not embarrass you?

The derangement is insisting that Trump is the greatest president of all time while he screws everything up.

Because he didn’t entertain the American Idol voters enough.

People who voted for Trump to enact policies he promised who comment that he's not following through are now labeled "TDS", because that makes sense.

I think you’re right about the core dynamic here. A lot of people were signing up for a list of promises that spoke directly to frustration with the political system. When those promises don’t materialize, or when the direction shifts, it’s natural for people to reassess.

What you’re describing isn’t “turning on him,” its voters holding someone to the standards they set for themselves. That’s how accountability is supposed to work. If the movement was built on big structural commitments — corruption, foreign policy, immigration, tech power, spending — then it makes sense that people judge based on outcomes rather than branding.

Your point about ego vs. expectations is also part of the picture. Any leader who assumes support is unconditional is going to run into reality when people start prioritizing principles over personality.

Trump's schtick of flamethrowing and making enemies when there was no need to, only to complain when those people he alienated didn't help dig him out of holes he created later, is still fascinating.

We're seeing the same shite with Europe and his war in Iran.

Ron isn't good at communicating policy in a way that makes sense to people and is just an odd guy. I will tell you from firsthand experience he is great in a room with policymakers. He understands the processes and levers of power at a level few do.

Trump is a generational candidate but unfortunately hit or miss on the "getting things done" front once he is actually in office. And the vast majority of things he's doing are things Dems can easily reverse or eliminate in 2028.

Trump thinks just being president is your legacy but it's actually the policy that will live on.
