Has anyone else in Baton Rouge been affected by this Cox outage? The weather hasn’t even been that bad today, we’ve just had light rain here and there and it’s been cloudy - yet my Cox services have been out all day. I pay Cox $105 a month strictly for internet and all I want to do is watch Jordy’s new interview with Derek Pomansky but that’s not happening.

When I try calling Cox I get a message from an automated system telling me that there’s an outage in my area and that a customer service representative won’t be able to restore my services any faster and then it automatically disconnects me and ends the call. When I open the chat window on the Cox app, I get an agent named Shashikant who is about as useful has an accordion player on a deer hunt.

Any other Baton Rouge baws out there affected by this? What are you doing to get by? I don’t have 5G or LTE signal in my house so I had to down the street just to be able to get service to type this

I don't think it's weather related...Ive had two extended outages in the last 3 hours here in Vegas. Says resolution expected at 1:47am Pacific, not expecting that to happen though lol

In more developed parts of the country we have AT&T fiber optic internet and they give you refunds for outages at a prorated amount.

Cox is out for me also in NW Arkansas. Their website says it is planned maintenance.

I feel you. Very aggravating.
We’ve stayed with Cox for years even when other services become available.
After a few of these outages close together over a few weeks, we finally left and joined AT&T. It’s been night and day different. No outages and it’s cheaper.

Never occurred to me to put the two together.

Isn't that high for internet only from Cox?

I pay $80/mo in Baton Rouge for 1gig/1gig and have never had an outage. If you have access to ATT fiber, jump and never look back.

Cox has gone done the drain. When you schedule a service tech to come out, it’s about a 3-4 day lead to get one out. The customer service reps over the phone are not American and hard to understand. The prices continued to skyrocket without allowing me to lock in a price guarantee.

Edit: I ended up switching to fiber for half the price at the same speed. 5 year lock at that price. It was a no brainer.

Good Lord! $105/month for internet is crazy. Cox is the worst. Where do you live in BR since you don’t have 5G? I would have thought the whole metro area of BR was covered with 5G cell service. Have you looked into T-Mobile or Versions?
