Please stop the Musso slander, he is dedicated to his craft and throughout this entire season he’s been a realist and honest about how bad this team is. Musso probably gives us more LSU baseball content than anyone else out there
Growing up I always assumed the best players on the field played offense, my logic as a kid was why would anyone willingly play defense over offense if given the choice? In high school one of my friends made me rethink things when he told me that the DB was the better athlete than the WR because he had to do everything backwards. On the other hand, I’ve heard many ex NFL players make the comment, “That’s why he’s not playing WR” after a DB or cornerback drops an interception. If you’re going by salary numbers, those would tell you that the WR is valued more. Out of the two, who is the better athlete and who is more important to their team?
This has been an awful coaching job by CJJ this season
Nobody should feel bad for someone so lazy, he had the opportunity of a lifetime and instead of getting in shape he comes into the season with a body like a cafeteria lady. There’s no excuse, just pure laziness

He got eye surgery
quote:

Who cares if he is any good in the NFL? I’m a college fan and he was a stud in college and won the highest awards possible. I don’t care who drafts him or how he plays because his college career is over.

This is an internet message board and my entire post was about how he projects to the NFL and how I think it’s insane he’s going to get drafted #1. This is an open forum where people have discussions
quote:

I will be shocked if he is an above average NFL QB

I will as well, nobody in the league is scared of Mendoza’s arm. Third leg is just cherry picking stats from 1 quarter to support his opinion, try looking at the entire game. Mendoza isn’t a top 30 QB in the league and my point was that taking him at #1 is insane. If I’m the Raiders I take another position of need or trade out of the pick and wait for next year’s QB class
I agree, Jay isn’t even trying at this point

Preseason talk about him was hilarious - “He’s the Cajun bambino” “Fans will immediately fall in love with Yorke and he’ll be a fan favorite.” Then he turns out to be awful despite being the highest paid transfer on the team, and the most hated baseball player in recent memory

Troll thread at 12:30 in the morning. Insomnia's a bitch.

Not one single person has answered my question, if he’s an actual NFL talent, why didn’t Indiana ever trust him to throw the ball on 3rd down? They knew his skillset was limited and didn’t ask him to do very much at all with his arm during their playoff run
Jay should’ve promised him the 1B position this year and then an outfield spot next year
Did nobody learn their lesson from JJ McCarthy? Fernando seems like an outstanding young man who does things the right way, but I just don’t see him excelling in the NFL. He has a very similar mold, skillset, and story to JJ McCarthy, he’s mobile and he’s a game manager. Like McCarthy, he won a national championship on a super team and was not asked to do very much at all at in college, his defense and run game carried him.

In the national title game, Indiana had 3rd and 6, 3rd and 8, 3rd an 10, and 3rd and 12, and you know what they elected to do each time? Each time they handed the ball off. If you have a first round talent, starting NFL QB on your team, you’re really not going to put the ball in his hands and trust him to make a play on any of those 3rd downs? I’m not saying that Mendoza is going to be awful, but there’s no way I’m taking him with the #1 overall pick. I know this is a very weak QB class, but If I’m drafting a QB, I’m more interested in guys that actually had to air the ball out in college and carry their team.
How did they find that at the combine but not LSU? I mean we’re paying the kid $5 million a year and we can’t even get him top class medical treatment? Huge indictment on our medical staff
quote:

I got $5 million reasons why Preston Guy is fos.

I’d love to hear them. Last year Mike Scarborough at Tigerbait said that Nuss was healthy he just didn’t put in the work in the offseason, but Preston didn’t share that same sentiment.
quote:

Lane didn't fly to another state's airport to recruit Spencer. Preston is wrong, this job belongs to Leavitt and it's his to lose.

A lot of people don’t believe Leavitt will be 100% healthy and ready for Clemson. Lane isn’t trotting Leavitt out there unless he’s 100%, not with this type of injury and not with how important Leavitt is to the team. If Longstreet looks great and we beat Clemson, you don’t think Lane keeps him as the starter against Ole Miss? The same exact scenario just occurred last year with Simmons and Trinidad
Preston was at practice today and reported that when Leavitt returns, he won’t be given the starting job and he’ll have to compete with Longstreet for QB1. Preston reported that Longstreet looked a step above Landon last week and looked much better than Landon today. I thought this was a very interesting comment given Lane’s history with QB’s.

Let’s not forget about back in 2023 when Kiffin was at Ole Miss and took Oklahoma State transfer QB Spencer Sanders - a coveted four year starter and All Big 12 QB only to have him ride the bench behind Jaxson Dart. I can remember at the time being shocked that someone of Sanders’ pedigree would transfer and then ride the bench, but that just goes to show that experience isn’t necessarily the most important factor for Lane when it comes down to selecting his starting QB.

Here’s a very real scenario that we could see play out. Leavitt isn’t healthy enough for Clemson and Longstreet gets the start, we win and the offense looks great. Lane rides the hot hand and we go into Oxford and get the win, there’s no way you can pull the starting job from Longstreet at that point right?
quote:

Really surprised Coach hasn’t figured out what he is doing to be hitting so many infield flys. Don’t know if just trying to do too much or something mechanical

It blows my mind as well, for as much as Yorke is getting paid you’d think he could figure out how to do literally anything other than pop up to the infield
CJJ said “I made some mistakes in trying to replace two guys that were irreplaceable, where we should’ve looked to replace them from guys that were already in the program, the power moving forward will come from players who start their career here.” How do you interpret this comment? I’m taking it as CJJ directly saying that he’s going to focus on building from within and not lean as heavy on the portal.

He’s hit on the portal every year he’s been here with the exception of this year and it’s brought us two national championships, why change your philosophy just because you had one awful portal year? The portal brought us Skenes, White, Eyanson, Stanfield, Gage Jump, Luke Holman. CJJ’s comments made no sense

Lazy infield pop up for Yorke

We might as well have just handed them an out when we sent that guy to the plate
He left Evans in way too long last night, you, me, and Musso could see that
Jordy and Hellmers have a podcast called Louisiana Loaded, they do this out of Gordon’s podcast studio. From my understanding this studio is one to the public and anyone who wants to use it just needs to short Gordon an email. This week they had on Wilson Alexander who as many of you know recently lost his wife to cancer. Wilson is now a national write for On3, below is a link to the interview
