BATON ROUGE — A woman has been arrested as an accomplice in the shooting death of the father of her two children. Hope Jackson, 29, was arrested late Thursday as a principal to the second-degree murder of Anthony Wesley Jr. on Sunday morning.

Her new boyfriend was arrested hours after the crime, accused of killing Wesley. She and her ex-boyfriend were involved in a custody and child support dispute in court.

Riddick Franklin, 32, was arrested Sunday on counts of second-degree murder, illegal use of a weapon, obstruction of justice and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Deputies found 29-year-old Wesley’s “lifeless body on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds” outside Jefferson Lakes apartments on Airline Highway on March 22, Jackson’s arrest warrant said.

Surveillance video showed a white truck pulling into the complex around 3 a.m. and leaving at 5:40 a.m. on Sunday, March 22.

About one minute before the truck exited, video showed Wesley being shot in the head from behind. His killer then stood over him and fired more shots, the warrant said.

The father then went through the courts to gain access and custody of his children. His heartless child’s mother was upset about the support she wouldn’t get when he was granted joint custody that she planned his killing with her ex-convict boyfriend. The boyfriend executed him in cold blood all while reporting his movements to the girlfriend. The boyfriend was arrested and subsequently confessed and through electronic messages officers were able to verify the role the ex-girlfriend played leading to her arrest.
