And remake the Middle East

quote:

Saudi Arabia’s de facto leader, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, has been pushing President Trump to continue the war against Iran, arguing that the U.S.-Israeli military campaign presents a “historic opportunity” to remake the Middle East, according to people briefed by American officials on the conversations.

In a series of conversations over the last week, Prince Mohammed has conveyed to Mr. Trump that he must press toward the destruction of Iran’s hard-line government, the people familiar with the conversations said.

Prince Mohammed, the people familiar with the discussions said, has argued that Iran poses a long-term threat to the Gulf that can only be eliminated by getting rid of the government.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel also views Iran as a long-term threat, but analysts say Israeli officials would probably view a failed Iranian state that is too caught up in internal turmoil to menace Israel as a win, while Saudi Arabia views a failed state in Iran as a grave and direct security threat.

IF MBS really wants to remake the Middle East then he should outlaw Wahhabism.

Yeah I mean SA and Iran are JUST coming off a long-term proxy war in Yemen. They hate each other. Of course SA wants the US to spend its money and American lives to crush its enemy. Why wouldn't they?

More of a "enemy of my enemy is my (temporary) friend" scenario.

Of course MBS wants Iran destroyed. They’re a Shia republic and his country is a Sunni monarchy.

Disagreeing with starting this vs understanding the entire operation is likely to be counterproductive long-term absent regime change… not mutually exclusive positions. That’s why it’s false equivalency to compare MBS to Netanyahu in this context.

Many Americans contend the last 10 years of diplomacy / escalation with Iran were handled poorly & that Bibi was a major player.

Nearly all of us agree that regime change is the only acceptable outcome after this… Kind of the whole problem.

Trump is a puppet for MBS.

And Israel.

And Putin.

And Hitler.

And all the people I don’t like.

I agree with the Saudis - you have to chop off the head of the snake, and burn the head. Otherwise, even the head of the snake can still bite you.

Remember America, it was radical islamist that hijacked those airliners full of people and flew them into the Twin Towers.

The takeover of New York City by Mamdani and his radicalist Muslim/Communist is an indication of the tenacity of these Islamic demons.

They will never stop. You can't negotiate with these Islamist.....you can't compromise with an islamic zealot. They want America.

President Trump is right about..........everything.

I would have avoided this example in this particular thread.

I'm responding to your post. you were bitching that this historic opportunity was not "for America". If you don't think it's a historic opportunity that's a separate discussion.

If it is a historic opportunity it is most certainly one "for America"

I'm sorry you can't keep track of what you're bitching about

Well I mean if a Saudi Arabian prince wants American men and treasure to be burned up in Iran, then what is there left to argue over?
We have to give him what he wants, especially since it’s also what Bibi wants.

To your stations, young men of the heartland. Yours is not to question why, yours is but to do and die.
