Started Black Sails for the first time, what a ride so far...

I've seen some wild tv, but the amount of gratuitous...well everything is even more than game of thrones or Spartacus 
I'm about to start the last episode of season 2. Hopefully the pace keeps up for the rest of the series.

But yes, it not only keeps up the pace but steps it up a notch. The final few seasons are epic television.
Flint, Long John, and Rackham have some of the best overall story arcs that I can recall in a TV series. Just near perfection.

wait, is this something I need to watch? I somehow havent ran across it yet, even though I have heard of it. What platform? I can look up myself obviously but I am sure you all already know.

Netflix. Originally was on Starz. And yes, it is absolutely something you need to watch. I wouldn't say the first season is slow by any means but some people drop out after a few episodes and if you do, you are really doing yourself a disservice. It's great TV.

I ended up just getting the Starz add-on for Amazon Prime. Like iwy said, definitely has a bit of a slow start, but it starts picking up speed. I think it does a good job of blending some actual history with made up characters.
Michael Bay was involved in some fashion, I assume with the battle scenes, so those are top notch.

I appreciate you saying this, because I fit in this bucket. I am not sure when I watched it, but I remember downloading a few episodes for a work trip. I remember thinking the show was ok, but I never continued for whatever reason. I'll add it to the list.

I watched the first couple seasons then moved and dropped stars with my cable provider and never finished it. Need to start over and watch it.

True story, have hung out with the guy that plays Captain Vane a few times and been to his house. Probably one of the coolest people you could ever meet, very chill guy and laid back. Great family and you'd never guess he's a pretty big actor

All good until he lets Joan Cusack bang him with a strap on.
(It's from Shameless.) But, for real, the show is awesome. Vane, Jack, and Silver are the best. The chicks aggravated me with the exception of Bonnie. I couldn't stand the island girl's accent.
Blackbeard's badass getting keel hauled sure was something.
I learned about Black Sails from here and have told a ton of people to watch it after I did.

Whenever this show gets mentioned on here, I always make sure to sing its praises. I didn’t love the first three or four episodes, I almost gave up, but once it got past that point, the show just found its groove and was always awesome. I loved the ending, it made me go read Treasure Island. Definitely a top five show all time for me.

Got overshadowed big time by Game of Thrones, just bad timing really but incredible show.
