seriously I feel like the cuffs are off because while she and my daughter and doing her senior break last bonding before college, li'l CAD and dad are running amok. Since I dropped them off at the airport at 3am Saturday morning we have had NO schedule, no set toothbrush times, no set bedtimes, no set eating.. It's GLORIOUS.

Jumped back in bed Saturday and woke up at like 9 and been on a heater ever since
- dad and son chain sawed even more trees down from the ice storm
- illegally burned a massive pile of same
- worked with Claude to create a digital dashboard of my home devices and bought a pile of crap from Amazon to assemble it and get it going
- took our e30 to the garage which hasn't worked in a year to get it running
- played in the "bog" in our yard which is just the muddy area where the springs feed the pond and kid was BLACK. But he found a really cool lizard
- bought a mouse for our snake and watched her eat it
- bought crickets and mealworms for the bearded dragon and when he wasn't full from that we took him outside and let him have a clover 'salad'
- fed the anole and cleaned out the bird cage and got them squared away
- took the 4 dogs to the dog park and let them run wild
- pulled an enormous amount of weeds until I got depressed at how many were still there and gave up
- played Minecraft with lil CAD until too late at night
- swapped my wife's head unit in her car for a real nice one with car play and android auto
- descaled my coffee maker
- washed dried and folded 3 loads of clothes
- pulled my son's loose tooth out
- stood around outside with the neighbors and drank beer and enjoyed the 50mph wind that came through yesterday

that was just Saturday and Sunday. The spring break week hasn't officially begun until today.

We have lots more planned including a visit to east TN on Thursday after the girls get back to shoot guns and visit Dollywood with my friend who lives there.

I'm always way more productive when she is out of town

with the kids, with housework, with everything

its unstainable because I run myself exhausted, when I know I have to do everything, I'm able to get really focused

She was recently out of town for 10 days, and during that time, I had my youngest in bed asleep by 7:30 every single night

She is never in bed and asleep when that early when my wife is home

My wife was pissed

my wife gets home today after 2 weeks visiting her family. I planted 50 trees, cleaned out the garden and planted vegetables, cleaned out the garage, burned a brush pile, divided and transplanted perennials, built two new flower beds, planted flower seeds, serviced the tractor and cut down two dead trees.

Today I am turbo cleaning the house because after two weeks the dogs and I have turned it into a flophouse but that’s OK. Ready for her to get home

I'm way more productive when my wife is gone. When she's home it's like she gets aggravated that I'm working on sh*t because she feels bad if she isn't. I'm off on Fridays and will usually have my whole weekend punch list finished by the time she gets home.

When my wife is out of town, my son and I have "boys weekend" and just go do all sorts of shite together. I treasure that shite dearly. I think this summer I may try to take him camping somewhere overnight.

THIS !!! House is an absolute disaster right now but idgaf it will be cleaned right before she gets back.

And to the person who liked the smell of bleach, yep. I'm going to add that to the mop water to "trick" my wife into thinking I kept the house hospital clean the whole time.

Trick is doing that right before she gets home so the bleach smell hasn't faded

And the TV project behind the bar probably wouldn't have passed the WAF test so therefore I did it while she was gone

Same.

We are productive as hell though, and I run this joint like boot camp after supper time. Kids are all in their own beds and conked out no later than 8. They sleep till 7 because they are smoked.

It really pisses her off

1000%. I can power nap in between projects without any bullshite. I can get things done without having to explain what and why I am doing it. I dont have to stop every 10 minutes when she gets a new or different idea in her head.

I tend to get a hotel for work trips that could easily be day-tripped. Will stay and work there 2 days. I’ve even paid for it myself before as I needed the getaway. A cheap hotel can be an oasis.

Always when the wife returns, she sees everything you have done but she always says something like "I see you didnt wipe the stove clean!!"

Snakes and bearded dragons aren’t real pets. Get a puppy.
