Have seen it plenty of times and a few night ago I just noticed that the pitcher had Jobo doll on the warm up mound before the Yankee game.

Also the scene where he is praying and Cerrano lights the fire. JESUS CHRIST in the middle of the prayer gets me every time.

Sounds like a Lovecraftian horror movie.

Are you trying to say Jesus Christ can’t hit a curveball?

Eddie Harris is one of my all time favorite side characters. “KY ball hit to left” from Uecker and him talking about all the shite he puts on the ball always cracks me up when Harris is pitching

Always thought the actor could play a live action Montgomery Burns

cerrano would have been sent down or cut because he would be hitting .000
He would see literally nothing but curve balls from day 1

Loved when Haywood says to Taylor “what are you doing back here” and he responds “I couldn’t cut it in the Mexican leagues”

Such a great response

Absolutely perfect casting as the crusty curmudgeon pitcher

What's great is that most of his lines were ad libbed. Bob was given the opportunity to sound like a real broadcaster (since he actually called Brewers games) to make the fake game sound real.

This is a kind of movie they can't replicate anymore. So many great gems. Corbin actually punching Charlie in the face at the end. Charlie was actually scared bc of the hit. Had to turn his head away at end shot bc it started to swell.
