NEW—In a phone interview, President Trump told me the war could be over soon: “I think the war is very complete, pretty much. They have no navy, no communications, they’ve got no Air Force.” He added that the U.S. is “very far” ahead of his initial 4-5 week estimated time frame.

Asked about Iran’s new Supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei, who Trump has openly criticized, he said, “I have no message for him. None, whatsoever.” Trump said he has someone in mind to replace Khamenei, but he did not elaborate.

How is this possible?

My X feed has telling me the US has lost and Trump is done. Because all he’s doing is bombing school children and civilian oil tankers.

Defeating them militarily was always going to be the easy part. It's what comes next is what worries folks.

I can just see Marco Rubio mumbling "please not me, please not me" under his breath.

Well the regime is still in charge so I wouldn’t call it complete yet.

No one should arrive at a hard conclusion in the next few months, much less days.

Complete, my arse. This going to go well beyond that 4-5 week time frame. How do the people "rise up" with no weapons? And who is going to lead it? Not the fricking Kurds.

If we dont completely destroy the IRGC and end Iran’s funding and equipping of its proxies then all we’ve done is waste a bunch of bullets.

So nothing has been achieved apart from the Supreme Leader being killed and replaced with his younger and more evil son. Great job

Of course he has to claim victory so as to have an off ramp.

He underestimated the Iranian ability to withstand a decapitation attack and the follow on barrage.

I don't think the IRGC ever really counted on its "navy".

The war part is probably way easier than the peace part.

It should be. If not, what’s the point?
