Is Ruger going to bring back the Marlin Model 60?

Or have they and I'm just not seeing it when I search?
I bought one from Wal Mart in 2007 for $89. It's had at least 5k rounds through it. For the last 10 years it has lived in my dad's garage. My nephews shoot a brick or two through it every month. My dad pops squirrels and coons with it.
My dad has been complaining that it doesn't shoot worth a damn anymore so I took a look at it. I figured it was finally dying. Found the problem right away.
Took the scope off, cleaned it thoroughly, and remounted it. Had to use brakekleen to get all of the gunk out of the action. I've cleaned this gun 2 or 3 times since I've owned it and rarely had an ftf on it.
Shot it out of a vise at 50 yards with cci mini mags. After sighting it in the shots are pretty much all touching. Below are two different groups, I adjusted the zero in between them.
The trigger sucks but if you can deal with that it shoots pretty good for an $89 gun. The trigger guard broke so this has been helping hold it together for the last 5 or 6 years. This was a quick repair that I made on my boat.
I'm guessing that Ruger is probably not going to bring it back since it competes with the 10/22. I'd get another one to beat up if I could.

First gun I ever bought, also from Walmart for like 80 bucks. I have the stainless like this one.

This is likely the case.
The lack of tube fed .22's available these days gives me sads.

First gun I bought myself was the Glenfield with the squirrel carved in grip. ETA: 1980 ish from Wilson at Cortana Mall.

That’s what I have and shoot it often.

I have the model 60 and a 1022. The 1022 seems to be better balanced and the stock feels more natural to me, but I love the tubular magazine. It’s just a nice classic design.

Spoke to some Ruger sales guys at a show a couple years ago, they had just put out one of the Marlin models since they acquired them. They didn't seem to think production would happen on the model 60 anytime soon if ever. I have a 10/22 and would like a model 60 just for fun.

Damn. Guess I'll get a 10/22

I have both. First gun I think I ever shot was a little Glenfield model that my dad bought my mom back in the 60s after they got married. My brother gave me the model 60 back in the 90s for Christmas. Love that little gun. Both are great platforms though. The 10/22 has way more after market stuff.
I need to get the model 60 out and shoot it. Been a while since it’s been shot.

Have several of thse and continuously keep a check on the local pawn shops. I buy every one I find. Besides my Marlin .444 it's my favorite gun.

Those are great guns. I've got one. Also have a 10/22 and a Nylon 66 Stainless Black Diamond. That's the one I'd love to see them do again.

My dad gave me a Model 60 for my birthday in 1985. I put a Walmart 3x9 Tasco on it, and to this day it’s an absolute tack driver. I like the little short 10-22’s. But love my model 60.

Hehehe, I have a 3x9x32 Tasco on my old Winchester 290. It’s not a tack driver but it’ll do for a mess of squirrels.

I love shooting ours, it's perfect for fun at the range, plinking, and working kids into shooting. I stuck the old Lyman 4x that I took off of my grandfather's Remington woods master 740 3006 (1958) on it, it is spot on and easy to aim. That scope just sat on my bookshelf for years, not sure why it took me so long to switch it for the crappy one it came with.

Marlin recently resumed production of their bolt action 22, XT-22. I had been looking for one, but when I couldn’t find one thought it was dead since it would compete w/ Ruger’s bolt action 22. Since the XT-22’s back in production, maybe they’ll resume the Model 60 as well.

Is yours the Model 60 or the 795? They discontinued the 795 IIRC, I really like mine.

It's the model 60 with the tubular mag.
