I feel like Maryland could be a sleeping giant in college football

After seeing Indiana have the success they did it got me wondering what other middling college team could be the next to explode onto the college football landscape and Maryland could be that school. The state and surrounding area actually produces a ton of elite talent. With the right coach and admin who go all in on NIL I could see them making some noise in the big 10. Although I think they would have been better suited to make a run if they’d stayed in the acc. They would be in prime position right now.

They’re too busy sucking each others dicks and playing lacrosse to care about football.

Crab cakes and football…that’s what Maryland does.

Maybe if Under Armour hadn't cratered.

Idk about football, but I could see them being elite in basketball again. That area is usually rich in basketball talent.

They got a 20 year curse for firing Ralph Friedgen

Always thought that line was funny, considering Maryland has never won anything in football.

The tidewater region of the country produces tons of elite nfl talent. The problem the state gets raided like crazy. Chase young was from Maryland for example. So was Stephon diggs.

I'd throw out Boston College name before Maryland.

I think they have a Virginia Tech problem to overcome but you could be right

VT is hardly a shell of what it was. There’s tons of talent there, but it’s all NIL driven right now. It doesn’t matter where the talent is located, only where the money is.

Well yeah that’s what happens when you’re irrelevant in football

In today’s NIL world, most colleges are a sleeping giant with enough money
