They have as good of a chance as anyone else does.

Baseball is a crapshoot and it’s always harder to predict a baseball champion than it is a football, or basketball one. There is much more parity in baseball, and sometimes it’s about a team peaking at the right time as opposed to the truly most talented team.

My gut tells me they repeat, but that’s also easy for me to say as a diehard LSU fan, because of Johnson, and what we’ve seen LSU do in the last 3 years. I mean LSU is frickin stacked.

If LSU does win it all, some of the talk about Jay possibly being able to surpass Skip in titles, and surpassing USC in titles etc will really heat up.

If LSU wins it all again this year Jay is the absolute best college coach in the country across any sport.

I think they have enough talent to do it.
But, winning it all requires a certain amount of luck, avoiding injuries, and getting hot at the right time.

Could they? Absolutely!

Will they? Much less sure about that.

I'm no baseball expert, but Johnson seems to be exceptional at managing a team to do exactly this.

As already been said, they seem to have the dudes and the capability. I told a friend early last year that LSU could win it, but it depends on whether they perform to their capability when it makes a difference in the outcomes of the games - game winning hits or pitches when it's on the line. That is ultimately the key to baseball success. Winning a regional and super against other good teams who have been playing well is just not easy. And then Omaha is a real challenge if you get there. I am impressed so far by the roster but it remains to be seen whether they perform in the clutch like the '23 and '25 teams did. Go watch the highlights from those years to see which guys stepped up and won the games when it was on the line. Who will do it this year?

This time last year I certainly didn't think LSU would. I wasn't certain that they could (or reasonably so anyway) but this year I know they can. I don't know what, if anything that means. This season is different than last season. It's different than '23. It's a long road, let's just enjoy it and worry about May and June when they get here.

He’s always pushing the right buttons. When he makes offensive subs more times than not it feels like the game changes.

To soon to make a determination. I didn't even know there was a University of Milwaukee till we played them and they scored plenty of runs on our pitching staff.

I think we could! But I'm just going to enjoy the ride like I do every year!

Way, way too early to tell, but if I had to guess I would say LSU doesn't win the SEC because they have too many new players, but finishes strong with good momentum. They host a super and get to WS. At that point it comes down to how Jay manages his pitching rotation and I think he's the best in the business at that. All this to say that LSU has a solid shot.

that’s the goal every year. Everything from then on takes a fair amount of good fortune

Finish top 4 in the SEC and you’ll be in position to host a Super

No reason to think we won’t do that

As many have said, our Tigers do have what it takes to win another Championship. There are just too many variables that can't be controlled to say our Tigers will repeat?
I'm betting LSU WILL BE one of the 8 teams in Omaha.

Hard to say.

I think less than a super regional will be disappointing. And they are good enough to get to the CWS and win.

But it’s baseball. Arms or bats get cold on the wrong weekend or run into a hot team, season could end.

I don’t keep up with the details like I used to. I thought the games against Milwaukee were exhibitions against the pro team.

No question they have the talent. It all has to come together, which is never a guarantee, and baseball is also cruel at times with how weird things happen.

The opportunity is there, though. Gotta have the building blocks in place, and we have those. We'll see how it develops.
