she recruits and is excellent in-game. Kim is a great recruiter and average in-game coach.

As much hate as she gets, and I agree with much of it, she is a great coach. I think she also has an excellent staff. BTW, she was pretty humble about the victory saying they got lucky with FlauJae missing those 2 free throws. The 6’7 freshman she got from France, Tournabize, is going to give us problems the next few years.

That’s all well and good except 1 had to deal with Geno a lot longer than the other.
Geno proved last season, UCONN is far better than either of these programs and it isn’t really close. Injuries derailed them in 23 and 24 or otherwise they have another title or 2.

Her ingame adjustment - which shouldn’t have been needed at all considering her team didn’t follow the game plan in the first half, was excellent Saturday. Shut down the outside game to 1 3. They beat them on the boards also. That game was lost at the FT line. I’m not sure how you coach girls that really didn’t have the same pressure like 4 did at the end of the game miss that many FTs.

While I fully believe Staley is the 2nd best coach in the country right after geno based on those resumes you’re missing where Kim was dealing with Prime Geno at UConn, Summitt at Tennessee, McGraw at Notre Dame, and VanDerveer at Stanford. Hence why the majority of Staley final 4’s are happening now with those coaches gone.
