Sources: LSU's Dedan Thomas will have season-ending foot surgery. Averages 15.3 PPG and 6.5 APG. A major blow for the Tigers.
Per Rothstein.
What a waste of money.

This was the suspicion from when it was first reported that he injured his foot.

McMahon should get another 3 seasons. Just terrible luck.

Will recoup most of it through insurance.

With a healthy Reed and Thomas, we could be 3-8 in the SEC!

Not surprising.
No reason to sink w/ this ship.

Cool. He can transfer somewhere else now or go to the NBA to avoid taking part in our shitshow dumpster fire rebuild that we’re about to embark on with a new coach.

Man that's terrible. Instead of only losing by 20-30, now we're going to lose by 40.
Hope all goes well for him with his surgery and recovery.

You mean the entire basketball program? I agree

Well now the McManiacs get another excuse to add to the list.

Damn it. Post season looking bleak now.

Thomas probably is eager to have the surgery so that he doesn’t have to return to this clown show. I don’t blame him one bit.
Best of luck to him at his next school.

Averages 15.3 PPG and 6.5 APG against a non-conference SOS that is ranked 300.. He is much better than what we have, but who knows how good he actually is.
It would be great if we had a single other player that could bring the ball down court, but that is asking too much of this coaching staff.

Raindrops keep fallin’ on his head.

That’s definitely not the story.
He wasn’t a waste. He was exactly the type of player you hope to get when you allocate dollars.

DJ is a good player, wish he could have stayed healthy this season. Best of luck to him.

LSU basketball under McMahon always drops this type of news either night before a game or on a game day. Just a little extra spit to the face of the fans.
