The son and his father were in Mississippi at the time. Apparently the father had just punished his son, 16, by taking away his phone and gaming system. The son responded by shooting him to death.

That kid’s going to have a hard time in prison.

Losing his cell phone and gaming system are the least of his problems.

Unless it comes to light that the kid had been severely physically or sexually abused by his father, no. He’ll be doing far more than that.

Tugboat Captain?

I could see some physical abuse and heavy parenting style. Not a stretch of the imagination to assume that the two probably had a bad relationship.

Perhaps the fact the son killed his father?

I’m no child psychologist, but that appears to be evidence of a bad relationship

This generation of young people/kids get downright demonic when you take away their cell phones or any technology from them. Not even parents are safe. It’s a sad, pathetic shame. They literally can’t function without a cell phone.

I started thinking about this as soon as I read the thread. Kids who have never known a world without being constantly connected have to develop some deep-rooted psychological obsession or addiction to their devices. Depending on the kid, parents may have to start treading lightly in that regard — and that is a terribly sad and disturbing thing to say. It just doesn't seem to be like grounding or taking away landline type shite most of us dealt with. This just seems completely different.
