I’m not sure I understand the purpose. Who does this pardon benefit?
He’s long dead and after serving his sentence dedicated his life to serving others. He was a good man despite his crimes. I don’t know anyone that would disagree.

We didn't have a TV when he played but Dad and I listened to LSU games on the radio. It was a time when LSU's offense ran the ball about 90% of the time.

This is similar to if Pete Rose finally made it into the Hall. It doesn't mean much of anything because you waited until he was dead and gone.

Not complaining because I don't really care. Just seems stupid to give a pardon to a dead guy that was guilty of his crime just because he was a football player.

He paid his dues and more than made up for it after he got out of prison. He worked for many years as a dentist at Angola.
