I wish litter cameras existed with $5000 fines

Road side litter is one of those things that brings out the ranting old man in me. I’ve searched the internet to see if any companies make a litter camera used by municipalities but surprisingly I haven’t found much of anything. If there was a good technology and laws changed to make it enforceable with ridiculous fines, I would run for city council, county commission or whatever it took to get them implemented.

Littering is akin to not returning your cart at the grocery store. It identifies to the rest of us what a self-important piece of shite you are.

You always know when you're in a poorer area just by scanning the side of the road.

It really is amazing how much cleaner the side of the road gets the second you leave this state.

If law enforcement would issue citations then I think people would cut back. There are no consequences and people these days have no civic pride or even a conscience.

If you’re old enough, you can remember when it was very common to see people dump bags of trash out of their car onto the side of the road.
If you think it’s bad now, then you really don’t have a clue.
In the 60s and 70s for sure it was really bad.
Just a few years ago, though I went to San Diego and was shocked at the amount of trash on side of the road. It was much worse than I see on a daily basis around South Louisiana.

It’s bad in SC too and nobody gives a damn. I’m fighting it on my private property that has a public dirt road that runs through it and ever since the local recycling place stopped taking tvs, couches, mattresses, etc guess where the lazy idiots dump it? On my land. So what I do now is if I can’t find a name I take the tractor and loader and move it to the main road and dump it right in the middle of the road. It mysteriously gets picked up within 24 hours too. I’ve tried to get the county to let me close the road but no luck so I’ll just keep playing this game with them I guess.

I’m convinced the majority of litter you see is due to negligence. Morons throwing water plastic bottles in the back of their trucks that fly out on the interstate. Or people leaving trash at overflowing trash cans rather than holding onto it until they find a new trash can.

That’d be nice if it were the truth but I see plenty of worthless pieces of shite open their door of their crackhouse on wheels and drop stuff out of it.

B/c the roads are cleaner in Mississippi, Ar-Kansas and Beaumont?
and i saw some lady through out her trash at a red light on Hwy 19 in Baker about 2 weeks ago. Just threw it out the window in the middle of the road, what looked like a fast food bag with crap in it.
I cannot for the life of me understand how any human being thinks this is acceptable behavior. Litterers should be fined heavily. I don't care if you make them go to jail for a week if they don't want to pay. Put them in a cell for a week, give them a bucket to piss and shite in and let them keep that shite and piss the whole week in their cell.
frick a litterer, and frick a thief. I'm sick and tired of both of them.

I hate littering, but the cart thing does not bother me. Say what you want about me, but by the time I finish putting the kids and groceries in the car, if I’m more than a few spots from the cart return, I’m putting it right in the middle of the spot where four parking spots intersect so it’s not in the way of someone trying to park. I’m not leaving my vehicle with kids inside just I satisfy people who are OCD about returning the cart when stores literally have employees whose job it is to go get them and bring them back.

This one of the few exception I allow for carts. If the kids are you ng. If they are teens then it's just an excuse to be lazy AND sets a poor example to said kids.

As much trash as I see, I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen people blatantly litter. It's all coming from somewhere of course, but it's sneaky.

Denver amazed me when I flew into there a few years ago.
Such a beautiful state marred by an amount of roadside trash that would put Louisiana to shame.
We need to more strictly enforce laws like littering.

No one wants to steal your child and they aren’t going to get dehydrated because they were in the car for 10s without it running.

Shite, I'm old enough to remember when everyone would come to a stoplight and dump their cars ashtray
It was disgusting but sadly it was extremely common around Baton Rouge

Or just park next to a cart return so you don’t leave your shite for other people to have to pick up.
