How are yall vacuum sealing your soups/gumbos/etc? Every time I do it I make an absolute mess!

I've tried ladling it in one ladle at a time - mess
I filled a giant ziplock and cut the corner and turned it into a piping bag - mess
I've tried a water pitcher - mess

Has anyone found a good strategy that doesn't make a mess?

I freeze it in a big silicone ice mold then remove, bag, and vac.

Fold the top edge of the bag inside out, so it stays dry. Then unfold it when ready to seal.

ladle liquid into bag. Place bag upright in freezer. Freeze contents. Seal once frozen.

The ladling is the tough part.

Roll the top of the bag a few times, fill with ladle, unroll, and seal.

Chamber vac is the only legitimate answer

No it's not if you buy a proper canning funnel. I use mine every time I put liquid type foods in storage bags and it's a snap.

Chamber vac but be sure cool or freeze the soup before sealing it. Room temp or warmer liquids boil under strong vacuum and it will make a giant mess if you forget this.

VEVOR CHAMBER VACUUM for under $300 shipped, you will have a first class chamber vac with the ability to vacuum seal water. I have one, one of the best purchases I have ever made.

Do the vacuum sealers still not have the same problem of getting the liquid Into the bag? That’s my problem.

You can also buy the vacuum bag holders, which help minimize the mess.

That is the exact same canning funnel I have in my cabinet and just used it a little while ago to put up some of the smoked pulled pork I made Sunday.

If you put a liquid food product into a air tight freezer bag and squeeze it to the top before sealing, then freeze, isn't that effectively the same thing as "vacuum sealing"?

Ive been sitting here wondering why one would need to vacuum seal soup. I either do exactly as you described or put in a containers. Nothing to it.

Yeah, if I don't freeze them in deli quart containers, I freeze them flat using water displacement so I can store them like this.
