My son‘s car got towed over the weekend and we went to pick it up today, was told it was cash only.
No debit cards. No credit cards.
Cold hard cash.
This is Apple towing here in Houston.

They call that the Riverside Special.

They accept fire bombs

Wait until you go back and pay and they tell you they don't make change either.

Imagine the chargeback shitshow they and processors would have to deal with. I doubt any processor would agree to work with them. I don't agree with it, but I'm sure that and tax evasion are the huge reasons.
Cash also makes it easier for them to give a bag to politicians and law enforcement.

Sorry your kid couldn’t find a job in Louisiana

Also, the price will likely increase daily

That’s pretty standard for predatory towing companies. Riverside was cash only and no change given
Those people were the biggest scumbags you could ever come across. I’m pretty surprised nobody ever shot up the place to be honest

I see past tense talking about those dickheads. Are they done, please tell me they're no longer in business.

I’m not sure about now I’ve been gone for about 10 years from LSU but they were public enemy number 1 when I was there

Still going strong. I drive by most mornings and there's usually a couple of people standing outside the gate.

One of my kids got towed in Austin and the towing company took credit cards. They are not all the same I guess.

I would assume they have been burned with a number of people charging to a cc, then reporting their card stolen and stating that the charge was fraudulent.

Pay them in pennies...

frick those scumbags. My gf in college lived on Brightside. I was going duck hunting the next morning so I had a boat hooked to my truck. Wasn't able to park in a normal spot. Parked on the grass and woke up at 4am to go hunting, truck and boat both gone.
