The Kenner City Council is set to vote on a resolution that would back an effort to bring the New Orleans Pelicans’ NBA G-League affiliate, the Birmingham Squadron, to the city’s Pontchartrain Center, according to the agenda for the council’s Thursday meeting.
The Squadron, which serves as a developmental squad for the Pelicans, has been playing games at Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama, since 2021 after making the move from Erie, Pennsylvania.

Imagine playing in that dump after getting Birmingham facilities.

I might spend more time at the Squadron games than Pels games.

They are not going to move. I seem to recall that they invested a lot into renovations in Birmingham.

I heard they were changing the name to the Kenner Hey Brahs

By the time Joe is done, they may be able to beat the Pels.
Should rename the team the Kenna Brahs

the city’s Pontchartrain Center,
Was a JPRD gym unavailable? This franchise is a complete dumpster fire.

At least I can walk to the games in the unlikely event I decide to attend one.

Pels are going to leave and they’re lessening the blow by moving the G-League team here

If it happens, it will mark the return of professional basketball to New Orleans.

What's the bigger joke here, the Pelicans, the G-League, or Kenna, brah?

Less expensive to bring them here for a cheap lease in preparation for the Pels and G League team moving out.

Superdome, SMG/ASM or whatever they are called now runs that facility. Gayle can get it without paying rent.

I will go check out at least one game to see what its about?

This could be great for Zion. Once he gets sent down to the G League he'll only have to walk about 500 yards from his back porch to the Ponchartrain Center. He could even call that his workout for the day

Change the name to the ‘brahs.

I think it is called Legends Global. Jerry Jones is a big investor. They manage several arenas and facilities around the world.
Crazy that SMG started in New Orleans as Superdome Management Group and grew into its own international company providing support services to other facilities before becoming a part of ASM that is now part of Legends Global.
