As an example: I feel like a lot of auto shops are outpacing the numbers.

Maybe, but I can’t imagine how complex it is to remedy all the potential issues in a modern-day vehicle and warrant the repairs for a period afterwards.

EVs? Ugh!

Not to mention the aluminum and other exotic materials that are used in cars & trucks…

And everybody’s potentially got a lawyer.

At the point where it doesn't seem like prices will ever stop going up.Things like eggs, gas and a few other items that you can watch the prices go up and down on seem to be about it. Most everything else since covid just seems to keep going up in price.

I did a little research and now feed the dog actual food. Blood work and weight loss are perfect. I spend so much less on feeding her now. Win/win

Right.

Companies now know what you are willing to pay for their products so why would they lower costs? I’m sure some will make it a big deal that they have now lowered their price but it will still be above what it needs to be.

Yes. They have explicitly said so in their earnings calls. Multiple companies have made statements along the lines of, “the high inflationary environment gives us the cover to raise our own prices and surge profitability.”

The data also reflects this dynamic…

This is the ratio of corporate profits to GDP. For all the talk of Covid disrupting supply chains, the only lasting impact out of that disaster was the permanently higher prices it stuck us with. This graph shows that those price increases were not merely offsetting higher input costs to make employers whole… they were extracting more value off the top.

Once the dog food companies realized all the trendy buzz words for people food work for dog food too, it went insane.

Rich white liberal lady: “I pay double for gluten free, free range, organic blah blah blah for my food, so my dog should get that too.”

Getting an oil change is one. The ford stealerships around me charge about 120 dollars for an oil change. Walmart was about 65.

Motor Oil is still expensive at over 5-6 dollars a quart despite oil prices hovering in the 50-60 dollar a barrel range.

I know some newer vehicles are taking that synthetic 0w20 crap which raises the price on some oils.

I laugh every time i hear "my dog wont eat such and such". Has anyone ever known a dog to starve with food in their bowl because they didnt like that brand? Its a dog.

If you put on your conspiracy theory glasses it seems like it was part of a larger plan to do just that.

Yes. Cocktails aren’t $20 a drink because of inflation. It’s because desperate people kept paying. Or $25 work lunches.

My favorite is my retarded liberal coworker who screamed double-digit inflation under Biden was a good thing and nothing cost more than in the past.

Now single digit inflation under Trump is the end times and the average person can't even feed themselves bc it costs too much.

That's who businesses are taking advantage of.
