Her husband owned a car and she was an activist that was trained at a communist affiliated school, but nice virtue signal.

If a white homeless person poops in that seat is it a hate crime?

That’s ridiculous.

And yes, Parks was an agitator- I forget the name of the young woman this REALLY happened to.

ETA… isn’t this flying in the face of “the movement” anyway? The point is supposed to be people, whatever color they are, should be able to sit anywhere on the bus.

Are they trying to imply this is still happening?

No. We are moving on from discrimination against a certain race. Today we are more enlightened. Now we discriminate against everyone.

That's not going to go over well if they plan on leaving it up the whole month.

Maybe they should reenact the boycott… that’d be something.

You know that sign is getting moved to the back of the bus, though what happens with it back there I don't want to know.

This is how much the left cares about their heroes......

quote:

Parks was robbed and attacked in her home on August 30, 1994, at age 81. The assailant, Joseph Skipper, broke down her back door, falsely claiming to have deterred an intruder and demanding a reward of $3. After Parks complied, he demanded more money and assaulted her, punching her in the face. Eventually, Parks agreed to give Skipper all of the money she had: $103. Parks then called Steele, co-founder of the Rosa and Raymond Parks Institute, who called the police.

According to United States Representative Edward Vaughn, after reports of Skipper's conduct circulated, vigilantes searched for and attacked him.

After this event Mike Ilitch, the founder of Little Ceasars, set her up with a home and a trust fund which he paid for til her death.

Not one single fking civil rights leader lifted a finger to help her while she was living in a piece of garbage home and robbed and beaten........but 40,000 showed up for the photo ops at her funeral......same as it ever was.

Skipper was arrested on August 31.[147] Many commentators saw Parks's assault as evidence of the moral decline of Black youth, but Parks cautioned against "read[ing] too much into the attack" and expressed compassion for Skipper, acknowledging "the conditions that made him this way".

I love how they just whitewashed what Claudette Colvin did and inserted Rosa 9 months later to be the face of the movement.

A rememberance of not being able to sit somewhere by not allowing me to sit somewhere seems like an odd choice.

What do you love about it? It was an obviously savvy PR move by the movement. You begrudge them that?

So since 80% of the buses are not being used their will just be another seat open.
