What is going on in these schools today? WTF is "gay chicken"?

So, I'm talking to my neice/god daughter and she is a 7th grader at a local Catholic school of which I attended as her mother did. As I'm asking her about her typical day and the much anticipated recess that happens everyday she tells me that the boys in her grade go to a section of the "playground" not covered by CCTV and they play "gay chicken". I'm like wtf is gay chicken and she tells me it is exactly what it sounds like. So I'm like, ok so you've got a couple queers in your class who go and makeout at recess. I guess that is natural for 13 year olds and just running the numbers, some of them are gay. She says, "No, these are straight boys and it isn't a couple of them its a shitload of them". So being a child of the 80's where we played smear the queer at recess or wrestlemania on the jungle gym until someone broke an arm I can't fathom spending my recess playing "is Bob gonna kiss Ted" and so on and so on. WTF is wrong with people today? Why on earth are young boys about to become young men normalizing kissing each other? Someone please enlighten me on how this is not due to the bullshite we are forced to accept in the name of diversity or inclusion every place we look. Oh, and hey if I just happen to be the Trog here who grew up in a caveman environment and I'm the crazy one feel free to let me know that because I'm 50, not 100.
