Lunardi has nine SEC teams in the field. LSU is not even in the “Next Four Out.”

Uh oh. McMahon better start winning some games.

If the tourney included 128 teams LSU would have trouble making it

Does this surprise anyone?

It’s hard to be competitive in all 3 major sports.

In the interest of relevancy, you can post bracketology information on boards other than the Rant.

McTrahons is not a leader. He’s a pushover and too soft.

Last season 14 of 16 SEC teams made the NCAAT. Of course, LSU was one of the only 2 that didn’t. Due to conference contracts, LSU earned an automatic NIT bid. And turned it down. That’s how much confidence we had in the program, but CoachMc still got another season. The last time MBB turned down an NIT bid was under CJJ with Ben Simmons. CJJ was given another season and went 2-16. The way the LSU AD, even through different directors, has handled LSU MBB is atrocious.

Except for the fact that we have been many times before at the same time and Florida, Bama, Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee, Vandy, Texas A&M, Texas, Oklahoma, Duke, Virginia, Miami etc. currently are.

I think that was more due to the fact that (a) the players probably did not want to play in the NIT and (b), if LSU had a home game, it would probably lose money for the school given the crowd at LSU's last NIT appearance (in McMahon's only "good" season) was probably less than the amount of people working the concession stands.

Again, I suspect that was more of the players "opting out" than anything else. Regardless, at that point Jones' record was 80-51 (40-32) with an NCAAT appearance to his name. While anyone that followed LSU basketball with any degree of significant interest knew a 5 year would be a waste of time, there was at least some plausible basis to allow him a 5th year. Contrast that with McMahon who was 45-53 (14-40) at the end of last season without ever being in the conversation for an NCAAT bid. That should tell anyone with even a modicum of rational thinking ability that the decision to keep him for year 4 was NOT based on an actual belief he would be successful.

come on guys, you can't judge a coach from his first 4 seasons. Gotta give him at least a decade before we judge him
