Anyone own a grand wagoneer or wagoneer? Would like some feedback, pros and cons. Thanks

My wife has a 2022 Wagoneer series II. What do you want to know? It's been a great car for us. We travel, pull a boat with it occasionally when everything won't fit in my truck.

Thought the regular wagoneer was getting discontinued? The Grand version was sticking around. Like someone else said check resale and reliability. There are better options than that.

XJ Wagoneer is great. 4.0l is a great dependable motor.

Coworker had one. He hated it. He had electrical issues with engine sensors after 2 years. He traded it and lost a ton on depreciation. I think he said he paid 65k for it new and got like 38k for it in trade being only 2 years old with 30k miles.

My wife was put in a 2024 as a rental, while her car was in the shop after someone rear ended her. It was the biggest POS with 20k miles I’ve ever driven. Sensors not working, transmission issues, overheating. I would never own anything made by Jeep.

4.0 was an option in 87 or later. Previous versions had a GM V6

And ^this.

My son and his wife have one. I sent this thread to him, asking him if wanted to join in. He responded to me "Three words: don't get one."

How people keep getting suckered into buying these things boggles my mind. I've heard nothing but bad things.

Yeah I know of two people and both had issues, one had to threaten to sue and used lemon law to get out from under it.

Really disheartening to hear all the bad news about them as my wife is dying to get one as well. I'm just curious on the year models of all the ones that had issues? Only because they went from debut with a 5.7 and 6.4 and was forced to adapt the hurricane shortly after.

I know there are horror stories but there are so.damn.many. on the road, I can't not see at a minimum of 3-4 on the road on the way home every day

And the better options, what are they?

You have GMs afm 5.3 and I know of 2 family members that had to replace transmissions on Yukons from 100k to 118k

Toyota has a new twin turbo that comes with metal (and is smaller than the previous Sequoia)

Nissan has a brand new everything in the armada along with a new v6

Ford has multiple complaints on their transmission and software

So what's left?

I drove one for a few days as a rental. It was a great riding car. But, it had 5k miles on it and hear the reliability is awful.

Mine has been the most reliable vehicle we have had. 70K miles. The major problems were with the models that had the more advanced 4WD systems.

My F-150 2021 just had transmission replaced, out of warranty, 72K miles.
Multiple recalls that Ford can't do because of parts availability. Can't trade it with multiple open recalls.

My business partner has a 2023 Tahoe that had to have complete engine replacement, 16K miles. Had a GMC Sierra that had the lifter issue, out of warranty, engine replacement at less than 100K miles.

Family member had one. Pretty, but constant problems. Look up reviews. They’re generally bad…
