NCAA will sit this out and will fix all the mess for next year. It will take time and a commission chaired by Saban

I wouldn’t hold my breath on the ncaa fixing anything.

Hope so, but I think it will take a few more years to sort this out. Might even require federal legislation.

Bro, this will take years to fix. The ncaa doesn't get ahead of anything. Who didn't see any of this coming?
Posted on 1/7/26 at 8:51 am to 756
We’ve been saying this since NIL began

NCAA aint doing shite especially as long as the top 30-40 programs are pulling in container ships full of money.

programs have been complaining about how insane NIL, portal, cfb schedule have been since this started. NCAA has sat on their arse and not done shite.
What makes you think they're gonna become proactive now?

No it will have to break to get fixed.
We know it’s broken, but you would have to have something so completely egregious that fans of other sports pay attention.

The NCAA has no teeth to do anything, though. The courts have all but ended all of that, with regards to players.

More likely the NCAA dissolves than they fix it.
I think within the next decade the major conferences will get together and form their own governing body.

Federal lawmakers - taking messes created by lawyers and fricking them up even more since 1776.

The NCAA lost control of CFB when NIL came about. They’re powerless right now and couldn’t care less. They’re waiting for the entire thing to collapse so they can jump back in when it does, if they’re still around.

Nah frick that. Wild west is great with a coach like Kiffin.

Lane is inadvertently going to help bring some law and order to this NIL landscape. The irony
most college teams will have to recognize him as their savior!

The NCAA told you paying players money wouldn’t be good for the sport. The NCAA told you no penalty for a transfer was not good for the sport.
But bleeding hearts cried and brought it to Congress and federal courts. Of course politicians are going to just give, give, give. That’s all they do. Now look at where we are.

We are a minimum of 5 years away from stability.

My heart/interest left college football 2nd year of NIL. And I am pro pay players.
When I heard big donors / NIL contract ‘underwriters’ refer to “their guys” (division structure) and turnstile door transfer portal loyalty over team and nil (double entendre intended) commitment, out.
D3 is still pure.
HS is not.

Barring Congress giving the NCAA and colleges some kind of antitrust exemption, nothing will happen. The NCAA is powerless.
