Blatant 3 plus one

It was either a foul before the shot or the shot only

I just saw the replay. That ref should be fired immediately and I usually support the referee. What a BS call.

The ND coach stormed after the official, and rightfully so. I wonder if anything will come of that (suspension, termination)?

Is basketball even a sport any more? That was awful and nothing will happen because the "right" people are getting rich off these things.

I stopped watching basketball because it just matters what the refs do in the final two minutes. Not a sport.

I didn’t think there was any foul at any point. Looked like the Nd guard whiffed on the attempted intentional foul and didnt make any contact in the act of shooting whatsoever.

I support the ND coach getting in the refs face under the circumstances.. a phantom foul call and then overruling the other refs to hand Cal the game . More coaches need to tell officials to go frick themselves.

As usual the refs no matter if it is high school, college, or pro can and will always be able to influence the outcome of games. When you don’t notice the officials they have done a great job. I can honestly say those days are gone forever. No accountability. They get to control everything and put on a show now. The money they make is pretty good now also. I do know on the high school level some of the guys can’t even pass the test so they are allowed to cheat. I would not be surprised when a coach or player takes a swing at an official. Some of these guys are real smart asses and walk around like they are the greatest thing on earth. Go out and watch a high school game or just watch ESPN.

The reach-ins maybe/probably could’ve/should’ve been called on the floor. But yeah, calling that a shooting foul is egregious (and that’s being kind).

College bball refs have been horrible for a good 20 years now. There us absolutely zero consistency. Call it tight one half, let them play second or vice versa. Call every little touch and hand on the back or let the players hack each other down with no fouls called. It's the most inconsistent reffed sport. Theirs actually a site that tracks each ref, which game they reffed and the fouls they dish out. It's pretty eye opening

Shrewsbury knows the writing is on the wall for his time at ND. They’ve been atrocious under him, and since Bret’s last few years. They were supposed to be decent this year but have a couple bad losses already.

Call was terrible though and I support his outburst.

Wait, it’s Notre Dame finally getting the BS calls against them?

The ACC didn’t even suspend him which shows they know the call was insane and the ref deserved it. Just watch the aftermath. The official scurries away like an arrogant rat. These officials need accountability.

ACC didn’t suspend him because Notre Dame might take its ball and go home. His response was a typical ND response. Don’t like a decision? Throw a tantrum.

The officials literally caved to the crowd and pandered to the cal coach who talked them out of the correct call. It was t just some spur of the moment bad call. It was malfeasance. I would want my coach to get in their face, too.
