Jason Statham is a GENIUS

If the amount of effort for best result equals peak efficiency, Jason Statham is the perfect human. He is the ubermensch.
This man has been playing the same character for 20 years with little variation. Lots of action stars have done that, right? But they had to work out and keep a perfect body. Statham? Nah, pretty fit Dad bod is good. frick a cut.
Can he act? Of course. But he doesn't have to. So, he doesn't.
I don't even like most Statham movies (outside of the Ritchie ones), but I can't help but respect the man. He puts out a movie a year (most go to theaters), gets paid 2-3 million, says his lines, hits his marks, calls it a day.
He's easy to work with and knows his niche.
Genius.

To quote John Candy from Splash - 'Look, if something works for me, I stick with it!'

He makes good movies. The Beekeeper and Wrath of Man were both good. So was the construction worker one, A Working Man.

ETA: double post
Did you know he was a world class high diver before his acting career? YouTube vids are out there (If you want to see him in a speedo)

He’s been pretty jacked for a few roles over the years.

Loved him in:
Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
Snatch
The Italian Job
After that, yes he began playing the same character. Mostly entertaining. I’ll usually enjoy a movie he’s in.

I did. Aren't he an Eddie Hall buddies from their time on the Natiinsl team in Juniors?

Statham does martial arts, and was a competitive diver. Wife was a supermodel. Doesn't have a Dad bod, and does what is in his comfort zone. He knows his limitations.

He’s had action sequences of him fighting while sitting in a chair. And running sequences where he’s clearly using a body double
It’s fricking hilarious

The Beekeeper was my favorite of his in quite some time. Solid rewatch value.

Even when he gets older he won’t have to stop. He can just license his name image and likeness and AI can keep producing Statham movies.
Just feed AI all of his prior movies and the prompts won’t even be difficult.

That's just it. He's a throwback that just makes fun movies. Are most of his films going to make it into the National Archives for cultural significance? frick, no. But they sold you some popcorn and you had a smile on your face as you walked out into the blinding sun after 2 hours.
That's what most actors have lost....at least I think.
