In one monologue.

He begins with Old English in about the year AD 500 and works his way up to modern English here in the present day. At what point in the video do you start to make sense of what he is saying?

I heard chicken right before 800. But I start picking stuff up after 900." The room is cold. It is long winter."

I started picking out a few words between 800-900. Around 1400 it started becoming pretty clear.

I first started recognizing words around 600-700AD, but it wasn't until ~1000-1100AD until I could make out a full sentence.

The printing press was invented in 1440 which tracks with a standard English dialect taking hold. It's crazy how much an affect that single invention had on society.

Learned old English and Middle English in my high school English class. Also had to write in old English when we studied Beowulf. It was actually fun.

Not bad for a small high school in opelousas

I started to understand between 700 and 800 .

I speak Pikey though. All you really have to know with them is … If they throw a dog in with the deal they like you.
