Just curious. Usually people refer to a coach by their last name but not for CLK

Just curious. I've notice since CLK was hired, most the references to him on here are "Lane", not "Kiffin" or Lane Kiffin. Usually you hear people refer to a coach by their last name or first/last or an abbreviated version.
Sabin
Miles
Kirby Smart
Drink
DeBoer
etc, etc, etc
Again, just curious why most posters use Lane?

Because Lane is the first coach in awhile that we haven’t felt like they were old arse men past their prime.

Not sure where you’re getting “Miles” from.
Les was Les.
Les was Les.

Half the tards can't even spell it right.

I felt like a lot of fans used to say “Les”
When Les Miles was coach.

Why do we care? Also Kirby, Marcus, formerly Jimbo, there are others.

Nick Saban was “Saban”.
Les Miles was “Les”
Ed Ogeron was “O”
Brian Kelly was “Burger King”
Lane Kiffen is “Lane”.
Idk what you’re talking about, tbh. I see no patterns or reason behind it.

It’s pretty simple. Brian, Ed, and Nick are very generic names. Les and Lane are not nearly as common and everyone knows immediately who you’re talking about.
A lot of people, including myself, used “Ed O” a lot.
