Lucas hire NOT final

Look, we can’t just keep jumping the gun. Have to distinguish between targeting and having discussions vs actually finalized…
Something to note, I believe Lucas got a recent pay bump from roughly $575,000 to $775,000. Kyle Williams contract was has a three-year contract starting at $700,000 in 2025, escalating to $775,000 in 2026, and $850,000 in 2027. Peoples made $700,000. So we either give Lucas a significant bump or hope he leaves USCe knowing Beamer is on the hot seat…

Only if Lucus brings the Stewart kid with him do I want him. I don't know anything about him? Can he coach the interior DL?

For goodness sakes when is the DL coach soap opera going to end! Trying to hire a decent DL coach is harder than hiring an elite head coach apparently.

Just because you dont know him doesn’t mean he’s automatically underwhelming. The guy is a top notch DL coach and a great recruiter. All you need to know

Gotta remember Lucas is a South Carolina native as well. He’s home. Also has I believe 2 young kids.

What do you think is more likely:
Coaches just want to be in a state they were born in?
Or
Coaches want to be where they can advance their careers and earn as big of paycheck as they can?
They only say they always wanted to be back home when that college outbids others. When they say it’s not about the money… it is about the money.
