Mono or braid?
What test?
What color?
Different materials/test for leaders under your popping cork?

15lb braid on mainly trout setups.
20lb braid on popping cork rod.

20lb mono cajun red for leader under cork. (Tangles less than braid)

I like spyderwire stealth, powerpro, J braid, never had issues with any of them.

30 pound power pro spooled on everything

Flourocarbon leader of appropriate test for whatever im doing that day.

Always power pro on the spool though. I remember being a kid and hanging into a 26" redfish being a damm stressful experience. Now, we just hoss em to the boat. I have enough trouble getting a day to go fishing and then finding the fish on the days I do. I damn sure dont want landing the fish to be any harder than it has to be. Everything else getting to that point is plenty hard enough.

After many years of trying lots of lines I’ve settled on simple Power Pro Spectra 20lb, it casts so far. Just awesome line. Dont need 30 lbs unless you’re regularly horsing bull reds or something like that. I use 25 or 30 lb Seaguar or Ande Fluoro, whichever is handy. For tight-line to jig head I tie braid to mono with a modified Alberto knot. Works great for the skinny 20lb braid to thicker Fluoro connection.

12 lb fluoro on trout setups.

30 lb power pro on everything else. 20 lb mono leader on topwater. 15-25 lb fluoro leader or straight braid on everything else…usually depending on water clarity

Looks like theres a serial braid downvoter around.

They must like breaking off fish and respooling reels every month.

Spinning set ups: 10lb green suffix 832
Lake P bridges set up: 30lb high vis suffix 832
Jigging rod: 20lb green jbraid 8 strand

I use a 20lb mono leader for topwaters or suspending baits or 20lb fluro leader for jigging or sinking jerkbaits

Popping Cork 30lb braid with a a 17lb flouro leader, I'm not trying to lose an $8 cork so I go with higher strength braid.

Jig Rods 17# mono

Live shrimp 12# flouro

14lb Cajun FTMFW! Fished BL last week caught a 36" redfish that took 5 minutes to catch. Went on a run for over 30 yds twice, no break.

This and appropriate mono leader for the task, except for wadefishing. 12lb mono for that. Braid is a PITA if you backlash while standing in the water.

Do yall have any issues with 20lb digging on your spoo? Ive tried it on my baitcasters and seem to always have issues with it

This is why I use 30 lb power pro instead of 20.

Yep.

If I was to fish with a spinning reel I’d use 20lb, but with my baitcasters I use 30lb for that reason.

30lb braid has the same diameter as 8lb mono. It’s still plenty small enough for distance casting

Mono backing seems to help a bit with this
