have been looking for anything that would explain how a 22 yr old who played in Israeli pro league can't get on the court. In his limited minutes he is shooting 44% from 3. He can't be any more of a defensive liability than Mckinnon and if we are struggling from 3 why not give him a shot and see if he is on. He got into the Texas Tech game with about 6 minutes left and scored 7 points going 2-4 from three. What if they had put him in the first half when we couldn't hit anything? I know I'm not at practice so I can't see what they see but it seems when he gets in he produces.

Early on to me he looked lost defensively

The earlier games McKinnon looked strong enough to protect the ball with passes and dribbling. I may have over estimated that strength but he can drive lane endure bumps. I ignorantly assume zipper may still be limited perimeter shooting?

He looks to be this year's candidate for "potential option left on the bench for no discernable reason". McMahon always has at least one. You'll probably see him get increased minutes in mid-February and wonder "why in the hell wasn't this guy playing a bit more earlier?"

Well here’s one reason he may not be focused on basketball. His GF that plays at Southeastern.

I don't think you did, he's more than just a spot of shooter, but as we've seen, games when he's off he's really off shooting....and has been mentioned he's not good at all defensively and it's not that he's unathletic, it's that from my perspective he really does not care to deal with screens at all!!

I’m sure you are one the ones complaining why MVP is playing more two months ago.

I think zipper is a little bit turnover prone. He’s a great shooter, but he seems a little lost on both sides of the court at times. Not particularly good cutter or finisher yet. I think him and Carter are sharing the role and Carter just looks more comfortable at this point. I think zipper is still acclimating to the team and American basketball as a whole.

They need to get a closer look at him before the conference schedule begins.

what if the discernable reason is lack of experience, like chest and vyctorious.

seems like a reasonable reason.

doesn't seem odd that after months of practice a player earns more minutes as they become acclimated to a new level or country.

He can shoot the lights out but has really heavy legs on defense, doesn't get open easily, and isn't really a big hustle guy.

I think he was behind when the season started. McMahon has been trying to get him more time in the last couple of games. Against SMU he got 5 minutes at the end of the half. The score tightened up but Zipper wasn't really the cause as he didn't get shots.

I expect Zipper to get 5-10 minutes a game minimum over the next 3 games. I suspect Gilhool will get some time as well.

King has had more minutes and I recall 1 great offensive stint. But I would assume his time was at 2 while zipper at 3. Both have the ability to shoot. It’s a tossup imo.
